1:13

וּכְנַעַן יָלַד אֶת־צִידוֹן בְּכֹרוֹ וְאֶת־חֵֽת׃

And Kena῾an begot Żidon his firstborn, and Ḥet,

Rashi

וכנען ילד וגו'. י"א הם וכנען עמהם הרי י"ב והיינו דכתיב יצב גבולות עמים למספר בני ישראל (דברים לב ח) כלומר גבולות עמים העמיד כנגד שבטי ישראל שגם הם י"ב כנגד שבטי ישראל הציב גבולות עמים דוגמת אשר הצבת לבדנה (בראשית כא כט):

1:14

וְאֶת־הַיְבוּסִי וְאֶת־הָאֱמֹרִי וְאֵת הַגִּרְגָּשִֽׁי׃

and the Yevusi, and the Emori, and the Girgashi,

1:15

וְאֶת־הַחִוִּי וְאֶת־הַעַרְקִי וְאֶת־הַסִּינִֽי׃

and the Ḥivvi and the Arqi, and the Sini,

1:16

וְאֶת־הָאַרְוָדִי וְאֶת־הַצְּמָרִי וְאֶת־הַחֲמָתִֽי׃ {ס}

and the Arvadi, and the Żemari, and the Ḥamati.
