וְנֵר הוֹלִיד אֶת־קִישׁ וְקִישׁ הוֹלִיד אֶת־שָׁאוּל וְשָׁאוּל הוֹלִיד אֶת־יְהֽוֹנָתָן וְאֶת־מַלְכִּישׁוּעַ וְאֶת־אֲבִינָדָב וְאֶת־אֶשְׁבָּֽעַל׃
And Ner begot Qish; and Qish begot Sha᾽ul; and Sha᾽ul begot Yehonatan, and Malki-shua, and Avinadav, and Eshba῾al.

וּבֶן־יְהוֹנָתָן מְרִיב בָּעַל וּמְרִי־בַעַל הוֹלִיד אֶת־מִיכָֽה׃
And the son of Yehonatan was Meriv-ba῾al; and Meriv-ba῾al begot Mikha.

מריב בעל. זה מפיבושת א"ר יצחק בר שמואל מנרבונא משעה שעבדו ישראל את הבעל נקרא הבעל שם בושת דכתיב לקטר לבושת לקטר לבעל (ירמיהו י״א:י״ג) כי הבעל הוא בושת וגדעון נקרא ירובעל על שסירב לו בעל (שופטים ו') ונקרא ירובשת דכתיב על אבימלך מי הכה אבימלך בן ירובשת וגו' בס' שמואל (ב' י"א) ונקרא ירובשת וירובעל, כי בעל ובשת אחד הוא:
וּבְנֵי מִיכָה פִּיתֹן וָמֶלֶךְ וְתַחְרֵֽעַ׃
And the sons of Mikha were, Piton, and Melekh, and Taĥrea,

וְאָחָז הוֹלִיד אֶת־יַעְרָה וְיַעְרָה הוֹלִיד אֶת־עָלֶמֶת וְאֶת־עַזְמָוֶת וְאֶת־זִמְרִי וְזִמְרִי הוֹלִיד אֶת־מוֹצָֽא׃
and Aĥaz begot Ya῾ra; and Ya῾ra begot ῾Alemet, and ῾Azmavet, and Zimri; and Zimri begot Moża;
and Aĥaz begot Ya῾ra; and Ya῾ra begot ῾Alemet, and ῾Azmavet, and Zimri; and Zimri begot Moża;
וּמוֹצָא הוֹלִיד אֶת־בִּנְעָא וּרְפָיָה בְנוֹ אֶלְעָשָׂה בְנוֹ אָצֵל בְּנֽוֹ׃
and Moża begot Bin῾a; and Refaya his son, El῾asa his son, Ażel his son.

וּלְאָצֵל שִׁשָּׁה בָנִים וְאֵלֶּה שְׁמוֹתָם עַזְרִיקָם ׀ בֹּכְרוּ וְיִשְׁמָעֵאל וּשְׁעַרְיָה וְעֹבַדְיָה וְחָנָן אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי אָצַֽל׃ {פ}
And Ażel had six sons, whose names were these, ῾Azriqam, Bokheru, and Yishma᾽el, and She῾arya, and ῾Ovadya, and Ḥanan: these were the sons of Ażel.

אשבעל. הוא איש בושת ולכך כינהו בושת לפי שבעל לשון אדני הוא וכינהו בושת ל' גנאי:
