וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל חִזְקִיָּהוּ לִפְנֵי יְהֹוָה וַיֹּאמַר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל יֹשֵׁב הַכְּרֻבִים אַתָּה־הוּא הָאֱלֹהִים לְבַדְּךָ לְכֹל מַמְלְכוֹת הָאָרֶץ אַתָּה עָשִׂיתָ אֶת־הַשָּׁמַיִם וְאֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ׃
And Ḥizqiyyahu prayed before the Lord, and said, O Lord God of Yisra᾽el who sittest upon the keruvim, Thou art the God, even Thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; Thou hast made heaven and earth.

הַטֵּה יְהֹוָה ׀ אׇזְנְךָ וּֽשְׁמָע פְּקַח יְהֹוָה עֵינֶיךָ וּרְאֵה וּשְׁמַע אֵת דִּבְרֵי סַנְחֵרִיב אֲשֶׁר שְׁלָחוֹ לְחָרֵף אֱלֹהִים חָֽי׃
Lord, bend Thy ear, and hear: open, Lord, Thy eyes, and see: and hear the words of Sanĥeriv, and him he has sent to taunt the living God.

אׇמְנָם יְהֹוָה הֶחֱרִיבוּ מַלְכֵי אַשּׁוּר אֶת־הַגּוֹיִם וְאֶת־אַרְצָֽם׃
Of a truth, Lord, the kings of Ashshur have destroyed the nations and their lands,

וְנָתְנוּ אֶת־אֱלֹהֵיהֶם בָּאֵשׁ כִּי לֹא אֱלֹהִים הֵמָּה כִּי אִם־מַעֲשֵׂה יְדֵי־אָדָם עֵץ וָאֶבֶן וַֽיְאַבְּדֽוּם׃

אמנם. אמת הוא שהחריבו מלכי אשור את העמים, ונתנו את אלהיהם באש:
Indeed. It is true that the kings of Ashur destroyed the peoples and put their deities in fire.
