מִפְּנֵי שֶׁמּוֹתַר הָאָדָם מִן הַבְּהֵמָה הִיא הַבִּינָה וְהַשֵּׂכֶל, קָבְעוּ בִּרְכַּת אַתָּה חוֹנֵן רֹאשׁ לָאֶמְצָעִיּוֹת, שֶׁאִם אֵין בִּינָה אֵין תְּפִלָּה.
