וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל־הָעָם הִתְקַדָּשׁוּ כִּי מָחָר יַעֲשֶׂה יְהֹוָה בְּקִרְבְּכֶם נִפְלָאֽוֹת׃
And Yehoshua said to the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the Lord will do wonders among you.

התקדשו. הזדמנו:
הִתְקַדָשׁוּ usually means sanctify yourselves, but here it means prepare yourselves.
כי מחר. בעברכם את הירדן:
For tomorrow when you cross the Jordan.
נפלאות. תרגם יונתן פרישן:
Wonders. This translation follows that of Targum Yonasan.
וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִים לֵאמֹר שְׂאוּ אֶת־אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית וְעִבְרוּ לִפְנֵי הָעָם וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת־אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית וַיֵּֽלְכוּ לִפְנֵי הָעָֽם׃ {ס}
And Yehoshua spoke to the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.

ויאמר יהושע אל הכהנים. ביום המחרת:
And Yehoshua said to the Kohanim. He said this on the next day.
שאו את ארון הברית. עד עכשיו נשאו הלוים, והיום הכהנים:
Carry the Ark of the Covenant. Until now it was carried by the Levites, but today it was to be carried by the Kohanim.
ויאמר יהושע. ביום השלישי, ויום ל' של אבל, היה ראשון לג' הימים:
And Yehoshua said. This was on the third day, and the thirtieth day of mourning [for Moshe] was on the first of the three days.
