כֹּה ׀ אָמַר יְהֹוָה יְגִיעַ מִצְרַיִם וּֽסְחַר־כּוּשׁ וּסְבָאִים אַנְשֵׁי מִדָּה עָלַיִךְ יַעֲבֹרוּ וְלָךְ יִֽהְיוּ אַחֲרַיִךְ יֵלֵכוּ בַּזִּקִּים יַעֲבֹרוּ וְאֵלַיִךְ יִֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ אֵלַיִךְ יִתְפַּלָּלוּ אַךְ בָּךְ אֵל וְאֵין עוֹד אֶפֶס אֱלֹהִֽים׃
Thus says the Lord, The labour of Miżrayim, and the merchandise of Kush and of the Seva᾽im, men of stature, shall come over to thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down to thee, they shall make supplication to thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; and there is none else, there is no other God.

אנשי מדה. גובהי קומה
עליך ירושלים:
בזקים יעבורו. שהביאם שם סנחריב שלולים בקולרים ולאחר מפלתו עמד חזקיהו ופטר את כל השבוים ונתגיירו והכירו מלכות שמים:
אך בך אל. יהו מודים שאין אלוה אלא ה' לבדו:
אָכֵן אַתָּה אֵל מִסְתַּתֵּר אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃
Verily Thou art a God who hidest Thyself, Thou are the God of Yisra᾽el who savest them.

אכן אתה אל מסתתר. וכן יאמרו להקב"ה אכן הבנתנו כי לגבות חובותיהן של עמך אתה מסתתר מלהראות נצחונך כביכול אין בך יכולת ובהתעורר רחמיך אתה אלהי ישראל מושיע כך מפורש במכילתא:
בּוֹשׁוּ וְגַֽם־נִכְלְמוּ כֻּלָּם יַחְדָּו הָלְכוּ בַכְּלִמָּה חָרָשֵׁי צִירִֽים׃
They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols.

חרשי צירים. אומני ציורים של פסילים של עכו"ם ומזלות:
יִשְׂרָאֵל נוֹשַׁע בַּֽיהֹוָה תְּשׁוּעַת עוֹלָמִים לֹא־תֵבֹשׁוּ וְלֹא־תִכָּלְמוּ עַד־עוֹלְמֵי עַֽד׃ {פ}
But Yisra᾽el shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: you shall not be ashamed nor confounded to all eternity.

יגיע מצרים וגו'. הרי הודעתי אתכם במה אושיע את בני מיד בבל כי כורש לכך העירותיהו בצדקי ועוד אני מודיעכם תשועת סנחריב בימי חזקיהו כאשר ישוב (לעיל לז) מעל תרהקה מלך כוש יבא לירושלים וחמדת כל אוצרות כוש ומצרים שילכו לעזור את כוש בידו ויבא עם אותו השלל ויפול בירושלים וחזקיהו ועמו יבזו את הכל כן מפורש בסדר עולם שעל סנחריב נאמר:
