לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה שַֽׁאֲלוּ־נָא בַּגּוֹיִם מִי שָׁמַע כָּאֵלֶּה שַֽׁעֲרֻרִת עָשְׂתָה מְאֹד בְּתוּלַת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
Therefore thus says the Lord; Ask now among the heathen, who has heard such things: the virgin of Yisra᾽el has done a very horrible thing.

הֲיַעֲזֹב מִצּוּר שָׂדַי שֶׁלֶג לְבָנוֹן אִם־יִנָּֽתְשׁוּ מַיִם זָרִים קָרִים נוֹזְלִֽים׃

היעזוב מצור שדי שלג לבנון. היעזוב אדם הצריך לשתות מים הנוזלים מצור שבשדות הבאים משלג הלבנון שהוא נקי:
אם ינתשו מים זרים. או אם יעזבו מים חיים נובעים שהם זרים עד הנה מכל אדם והם קרים זרים הם נובעים וזה יוכיח אני קרתי ושתיתי מים זרים (ישעיהו ל״ז:כ״ה) ומנחם חברו זרים עם לא זורו ולא חובשו (שם א) ל' מימי תרופה ונתן טעם לדבריו ואמר כי אם בקש לדבר בלשון זרם היה מכפיל את המ"ם והיה מוסיף יו"ד מ"ם והיה אומר זרומים לרבות המים ולהיותם זרמים:
שדי. כמו שדה:
קרים. פריוודא"ש בלעז:
נוזלים. קוראנ"ץ בלעז ועוד יש לפתרו אם ינתשו להיות מים זרים נמאסים המים שהם קרים נוזלים:
(זרים ללשון ראשון הוא לשון זרם ללשון שני הוא ל' זרות כלומר מים מאוסים):
כִּֽי־שְׁכֵחֻנִי עַמִּי לַשָּׁוְא יְקַטֵּרוּ וַיַּכְשִׁלוּם בְּדַרְכֵיהֶם שְׁבִילֵי עוֹלָם לָלֶכֶת נְתִיבוֹת דֶּרֶךְ לֹא סְלוּלָֽה׃

כי. כן עשו עמי אשר שכחוני ולשוא יקטרו:
שבילי עולם. שבילים המתוקנים אמרו שהם מכשול כדי ללכת דרך לא סלולה לא כבושה:
לָשׂוּם אַרְצָם לְשַׁמָּה (שרוקת) [שְׁרִיקוֹת] עוֹלָם כֹּל עוֹבֵר עָלֶיהָ יִשֹּׁם וְיָנִיד בְּרֹאשֽׁוֹ׃
