וַיִּתֵּן דָּוִיד לִשְׁלֹמֹה בְנוֹ אֶת־תַּבְנִית הָאוּלָם וְֽאֶת־בָּתָּיו וְגַנְזַכָּיו וַעֲלִיֹּתָיו וַחֲדָרָיו הַפְּנִימִים וּבֵית הַכַּפֹּֽרֶת׃

וגנזכיו. מקום שאוצרות הקדשים מונחים:
וְתַבְנִית כֹּל אֲשֶׁר הָיָה בָרוּחַ עִמּוֹ לְחַצְרוֹת בֵּית־יְהֹוָה וּלְכׇל־הַלְּשָׁכוֹת סָבִיב לְאֹֽצְרוֹת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וּלְאֹצְרוֹת הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃

אשר היה ברוח עמו. כאשר הראהו שמואל הרואה כדכתיב לקמן המה יסד דוד ושמואל הרואה ורבותינו אמרו וישאל ויאמר איפה שמואל ודוד ויאמר הנה בניות ברמה עוסקין היו בבניינו של עולם הוא ב"ה ולמד לו אותה שעה מה שאין תלמיד ותיק יכול ללמוד בכמה שנים:
סביב לאוצרות בית האלהים ולאוצרות הקדשים. ולא מפרש איזה מהקדשים אשר הקדיש דוד וראשי האבות שבאותו פרק היה ממונים עליו עד שיבנו בית המקדש אבל אוצרות אלו תמיד היו כל עוד שהבניין קיים:
וּֽלְמַחְלְקוֹת הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם וּֽלְכׇל־מְלֶאכֶת עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית־יְהֹוָה וּֽלְכׇל־כְּלֵי עֲבוֹדַת בֵּית־יְהֹוָֽה׃

ולמחלקות הכהנים והלוים. שחלק לכ"ד משמרות כדלעיל כל זה מסר לו:
ולכל כלי עבודת בית ה'. משקל מה וכמה כל כלי וכלי כמפורש:

במשקל מנורה ומנורה. כי עשרה מנורות עשה:

שלחנות המערכת. לערוך עליו לחם הפנים למשקל שלחן ושלחן כי עשרה שלחנות של זהב עשה בהיכל ומשקל הכסף לשלחנות שבעזרה שמפשיטין עליהם הקרבנות ומשקל המזלגות והמזרקות:
וְהַמִּזְלָגוֹת וְהַמִּזְרָקוֹת וְהַקְּשָׂוֺת זָהָב טָהוֹר וְלִכְפוֹרֵי הַזָּהָב בְּמִשְׁקָל לִכְפוֹר וּכְפוֹר וְלִכְפוֹרֵי הַכֶּסֶף בְּמִשְׁקָל לִכְפוֹר וּכְפֽוֹר׃

ולכפורי הזהב במשקל. כפורי כלי שרת לקנח בכלים הדם מהם ודוגמא בפ' קמא דבבא מציעא ההוא גברא דכפר ידיה בגלימא דחבריה וכל כפרה לשון קינוח וחטוי הוא:
וּלְמִזְבַּח הַקְּטֹרֶת זָהָב מְזֻקָּק בַּמִּשְׁקָל וּלְתַבְנִית הַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַכְּרוּבִים זָהָב לְפֹרְשִׂים וְסֹכְכִים עַל־אֲרוֹן בְּרִית־יְהֹוָֽה׃

ולתבנית המרכבה. הם הכרובים שהשכינה רוכבת עליהם:
לפרשים. כלומר המפורשים והסוככים על הארון כדאמר והיו הכרובים פורשי כנפים וגו' (שמות כ״ה:כ׳):

הכל בכתב. פתרון הכל בכתב סדר לו סכום משקל ומשקל של כל כלי וכלי שמואל הרואה:
כל מלאכות התבנית. תבנית הבית חכמני והשכילני כמו תבנית אורך ורוחב וגובה והכל דרש שמואל מן התורה ברוח הקודש כמו ששנינו הר הבית היה חמש מאות אמה על חמש מאות אמה (שם כ"ז) דרש אורך החצר מאה באמה ורוחב חמשים בחמשים חמשים פעמים חמשים הם כ"ה מאות נ"ל חתכם לחמש רצועות להיות חמש מאות על חמש מאות והוא מיוסד בסילוק קרובץ של שבת חנוכה המתחיל מנשה את אפרים ואפרים את מנשה והכל דרש שמואל ברוח הקודש ולמד לדוד כן:
תבנית האולם. ארכו ורחבו וגבהו כדכתיב (במלכים א ו׳:ג׳) והאולם על פני היכל הבית וגו':
