וְאֵלֶּה אֲבִי עֵיטָם יִזְרְעֶאל וְיִשְׁמָא וְיִדְבָּשׁ וְשֵׁם אֲחוֹתָם הַצְלֶלְפּֽוֹנִי׃
And these were of the father of ῾Etam; Yizre᾽el, and Yishma, and Yidbash: and the name of their sister was Hażżelelponi;

וּפְנוּאֵל אֲבִי גְדֹר וְעֵזֶר אֲבִי חוּשָׁה אֵלֶּה בְנֵי־חוּר בְּכוֹר אֶפְרָתָה אֲבִי בֵּית לָֽחֶם׃
and Penu᾽el the father of Gedor, and ῾Eżer the father of Ḥusha. These are the sons of Ḥur, the firstborn of Efrata, the father of Bet-leĥem.

וּלְאַשְׁחוּר אֲבִי תְקוֹעַ הָיוּ שְׁתֵּי נָשִׁים חֶלְאָה וְנַעֲרָֽה׃
And Ashĥur the father of Teqo῾a had two wives, Ḥel᾽a and Na῾ara.

וַתֵּלֶד לוֹ נַֽעֲרָה אֶת־אֲחֻזָּם וְאֶת־חֵפֶר וְאֶת־תֵּֽימְנִי וְאֶת־הָאֲחַשְׁתָּרִי אֵלֶּה בְּנֵי נַעֲרָֽה׃
And Na῾ara bore him Aĥuzzam, and Ḥefer, and Temeni, and Aĥashtari. These were the sons of Na῾ara.

וַיְהִי יַעְבֵּץ נִכְבָּד מֵאֶחָיו וְאִמּוֹ קָרְאָה שְׁמוֹ יַעְבֵּץ לֵאמֹר כִּי יָלַדְתִּי בְּעֹֽצֶב׃
And Ya῾beż was more honourable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Ya῾beż, saying, Because I bore him with pain.

ואמו קראה שמו יעבץ לאמר כי ילדתי בעצב. וכינה שמו יעבץ ודוגמתו בן אוני (ס"א ואביו קרא לו בנימין) (בראשית ל"ה):
וַיִּקְרָא יַעְבֵּץ לֵאלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר אִם־בָּרֵךְ תְּבָרְכֵנִי וְהִרְבִּיתָ אֶת־גְּבוּלִי וְהָיְתָה יָדְךָ עִמִּי וְעָשִׂיתָ מֵּרָעָה לְבִלְתִּי עׇצְבִּי וַיָּבֵא אֱלֹהִים אֵת אֲשֶׁר־שָׁאָֽל׃ {ס}
And Ya῾beż called on the God of Yisra᾽el, saying, Oh that Thou wouldst bless me indeed, and enlarge my border, and that Thy hand might be with me, and that Thou wouldst keep me from harm, that it may not hurt me! And God granted him that which he requested.

והרבית את גבולי. בנחלות:
והיתה ידך עמי ועשית מרעה. אם תהיה עמי ותצילני מרעה לבלתי עצבי שלא יארע לי שום נזק וצער ועצב והוא נדר מה שנדר:
ויבא אלהים את אשר שאל. ושלם נדרו ומכאן מביאין ראיה כשפוסקין צדקה (בצבור) בעבור מה שאין נודרין אלא נותנין בלא נדר ומדרשו ידוע:
ולאשחור אבי תקוע היו שתי נשים. מוסב למעלה ואשת חצרון אביה ותלד לו את אשחור אבי תקוע כי לא יחס עד עתה:
