נָֽקְטָה נַפְשִׁי בְּחַיָּי אֶעֶזְבָה עָלַי שִׂיחִי אֲדַבְּרָה בְּמַר נַפְשִֽׁי׃

אעזבה עלי שיחי. צרתי לזעוק ולקבול ולא אוכל לשבחו ולהבליגו:
אֹמַר אֶל־אֱלוֹהַּ אַל־תַּרְשִׁיעֵנִי הוֹדִיעֵנִי עַל מַה־תְּרִיבֵֽנִי׃

הטוב. בתמיה כי תעשוק ותגזול מן הצדיק את צדקו ועל עצת רשעים ומקניטים הופעת זיוך להראות להם פנים שוחקו':
הַעֵינֵי בָשָׂר לָךְ אִם־כִּרְאוֹת אֱנוֹשׁ תִּרְאֶֽה׃
Hast Thou eyes of flesh? or seest Thou as man sees?

הכימי אנוש ימיך. להתגרות בו ולרדוף:
כִּֽי־תְבַקֵּשׁ לַעֲוֺנִי וּֽלְחַטָּאתִי תִדְרֽוֹשׁ׃

על דעתך. יודע אתה:
יָדֶיךָ עִצְּבוּנִי וַֽיַּעֲשׂוּנִי יַחַד סָבִיב וַֽתְּבַלְּעֵֽנִי׃

עצבוני. עשאוני, עצב דפוס כמו אין מעצבין את הקטן במסכת שבת (דף קמו) ועתה חיילותיך יחד סביב:
ותבלעני. הם התולעים:
זְכׇר־נָא כִּי־כַחֹמֶר עֲשִׂיתָנִי וְֽאֶל־עָפָר תְּשִׁיבֵֽנִי׃

כחלב תתיכני. כטיפת תולדותי:
עוֹר וּבָשָׂר תַּלְבִּישֵׁנִי וּֽבַעֲצָמוֹת וְגִידִים תְּשֹׂכְכֵֽנִי׃

ופקודתך. פקודת משמרתך שמניתה לי שומרים:
שמרה רוחי. בבטן אמי, ואחר כך:
וְאֵלֶּה צָפַנְתָּ בִלְבָבֶךָ יָדַעְתִּי כִּי־זֹאת עִמָּֽךְ׃

ואלה צפנת בלבבך. לבלעני כאילו אין (אתה) זוכרם:
ידעתי כי זאת עמך. הכל כמפורש ולא שכחת:
אִם־חָטָאתִי וּשְׁמַרְתָּנִי וּמֵעֲוֺנִי לֹא תְנַקֵּֽנִי׃

וראה עניי. אין זה ציווי אלא שם דבר ראה עניי בדנ"ץ בלע"ז שכל שעה אני רואהו כמו שאתה אומר ושבע ימים (לקמן בסוף) כמו ושבע ימים (בקמץ תחת שי"ן) כן תאמר וראה כמו ורואה עניי:
וְיִגְאֶה כַּשַּׁחַל תְּצוּדֵנִי וְתָשֹׁב תִּתְפַּלָּא־בִֽי׃

ויגאה כשחל תצודני. ויגדל בעיניך להיות לך למשא ולפח נפש את אשר כשחל תצודני אשר תפרוש לי מצודה כאילו אני גבור כשחל:

תתפלא בי. לדקדק ולהפליא במשפט ל' כי יפליא (במדבר ו):
תְּחַדֵּשׁ עֵדֶיךָ ׀ נֶגְדִּי וְתֶרֶב כַּעַשְׂךָ עִמָּדִי חֲלִיפוֹת וְצָבָא עִמִּֽי׃

עדיך. להעיד על חליפת החלאים ומכאובים:
וצבא עמי. זמנים קצובים ליסורי אלו משמשים (צבא א') וחוזרים ומתחלפים שנויים משונים מאלה ומשמשין זמן אחר:
וְלָמָּה מֵרֶחֶם הֹצֵאתָנִי אֶגְוַע וְעַיִן לֹֽא־תִרְאֵֽנִי׃

כַּאֲשֶׁר לֹא־הָיִיתִי אֶהְיֶה מִבֶּטֶן לַקֶּבֶר אוּבָֽל׃

עיפתה. שם דבר חשיכה כמו שחר ועפה:
צלמות. היא ולא סדרים בה (שאין שם סדרי אדם כלומר מנהגים שאין שם יישוב ואור שלה כמו אופל הוא):
ותופע כמו אופל. מקום מופע שבה כמו אופל הוא:
נקטה נפשי. נפשי מתקוטטת על שאני חי והוא לשון ונקוטות' בפניכם (יחזקאל כ):
