בְּנֵי לֵוִי רָאשֵׁי הָֽאָבוֹת כְּתוּבִים עַל־סֵפֶר דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים וְעַד־יְמֵי יֽוֹחָנָן בֶּן־אֶלְיָשִֽׁיב׃
(The sons of Levi, the heads of the fathers' [houses] are recorded in the book of chronicles until the days of Yochanan, the [grand-] son of Elyashiv.)

וְרָאשֵׁי הַלְוִיִּם חֲשַׁבְיָה שֵֽׁרֵבְיָה וְיֵשׁוּעַ בֶּן־קַדְמִיאֵל וַאֲחֵיהֶם לְנֶגְדָּם לְהַלֵּל לְהוֹדוֹת בְּמִצְוַת דָּוִיד אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִים מִשְׁמָר לְעֻמַּת מִשְׁמָֽר׃
And the heads of the Levites: Chashavyah, Sherevyah, and Yeshua the son of Kadmiel and their brethren alongside them to give praise and thanks according to the charge of David the man of G-d, watch by watch [(the Levites being divided by watches for singing)].

משמר לעומת משמר. שהיו חלוקים במשמרותם לומר שירה:

מַתַּנְיָה וּבַקְבֻּֽקְיָה עֹבַדְיָה מְשֻׁלָּם טַלְמוֹן עַקּוּב שֹׁמְרִים שֽׁוֹעֲרִים מִשְׁמָר בַּאֲסֻפֵּי הַשְּׁעָרִֽים׃
Matanyah and Bakbukyah, Ovadyah, Meshulam, Talmon, Akuv — watchers. Gatekeepers [were in their] watch [(to guard the Temple gates)] at the thresholds of the gates.

שוערים משמר. שוערים היו במשמר שלהם לשמור שערי הבית:

אֵלֶּה בִּימֵי יוֹיָקִים בֶּן־יֵשׁוּעַ בֶּן־יוֹצָדָק וּבִימֵי נְחֶמְיָה הַפֶּחָה וְעֶזְרָא הַכֹּהֵן הַסּוֹפֵֽר׃ {פ}
These [were the gatekeepers] in the days of Yoyakim the son of Yeshua the son of Yotzadak and in the days of Nechemiah the governor and Ezra the priest, the scribe.

אלה בימי יויקים. אלה היו שוערים בימי יויקים:

ועד ימי יוחנן. כל אותן שהיו ראשי אבות הלוים עד ימי יוחנן כהן גדול מנוין שם בדברי הימים:
even until the days of Johanan All those who were the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites until the days of Johanan the High Priest were enumerated in the chronicles.
