וַֽיְהִי לִשְׁנָתַיִם יָמִים וַיִּהְיוּ גֹֽזְזִים לְאַבְשָׁלוֹם בְּבַעַל חָצוֹר אֲשֶׁר עִם־אֶפְרָיִם וַיִּקְרָא אַבְשָׁלוֹם לְכׇל־בְּנֵי הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃
Two years [later], they were shearing for Avsholom in Baal Chatsor which is near Ephraim. Avsholom invited all the king's sons.

וַיָּבֹא אַבְשָׁלוֹם אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ וַיֹּאמֶר הִנֵּה־נָא גֹזְזִים לְעַבְדֶּךָ יֵלֶךְ־נָא הַמֶּלֶךְ וַעֲבָדָיו עִם־עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃
Avsholom came to the king and said, "They are shearing for your servant, may the king and his servants go with your servant."

וַיֹּאמֶר הַמֶּלֶךְ אֶל־אַבְשָׁלוֹם אַל־בְּנִי אַל־נָא נֵלֵךְ כֻּלָּנוּ וְלֹא נִכְבַּד עָלֶיךָ וַיִּפְרׇץ־בּוֹ וְלֹא־אָבָה לָלֶכֶת וַֽיְבָרְכֵֽהוּ׃
The king said to Avsholom, "No, my son. Let us not all go and let us not all weigh [too] heavy upon you," He [Avsholom] beseeched him [Dovid], [but] he did not want to and blessed him.

וַיֹּאמֶר אַבְשָׁלוֹם וָלֹא יֵלֶךְ־נָא אִתָּנוּ אַמְנוֹן אָחִי וַיֹּאמֶר לוֹ הַמֶּלֶךְ לָמָּה יֵלֵךְ עִמָּֽךְ׃
Avsholom said, "Will not my brother Amnon come with us?" The king said to him, "Why should he go with you?"

ולא ילך נא אתנו. ואם לא יכול אתה ללכת, ילך נא עמנו אמנון:
Will not come with us. If you can not go, let Amnon go with us.
וַיִּפְרׇץ־בּוֹ אַבְשָׁלוֹם וַיִּשְׁלַח אִתּוֹ אֶת־אַמְנוֹן וְאֵת כׇּל־בְּנֵי הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ {ס}

ויהיו גוזזים. ודרכם היה לעשות משתה בגזוז צאנם:
The were shearing. It was there custom to make a party when they sheared their flocks.
