יראי ה'. אלו בני לוי שכתוב בהם מי לה' אלי ויאספו אליו כל בני לוי (שמות ל״ב:כ״ו) במעשה העגל ונלחמו עם ישראל כשאמרו נתנה ראש ונשובה מצרימה (במדבר י״ד:ד׳):

דעכו כאש קוצים. כל לשון דעיכה נופל על לשון קפיצה ונתור ממהר להיות נתר ונתק ממקומו על כן הוא נופל על לשון אש ועל לשון מים כמו נדעכו ממקומם (איוב ו׳:י״ז) וכן ימי נדעכו (שם יז) וכן נרו עליו ידעך (שם יח) כדרך שלהבת הנתקת מן הפתילה ועולה למעלה כשהיא כבה:
דַּחֹה דְחִיתַנִי לִנְפֹּל וַיהֹוָה עֲזָרָֽנִי׃

[יח] יסור יסרני יה. על מעשה בת שבע ביסורין כגון תחת הכבשה ישלם ארבעתים (שמואל ב י"ב) ששה חדשים נצטרע דוד:

[יט] פתחו לי שערי צדק. ואלו הן שערי צדק אותם השערים של בתי כנסיות ומדרשות אשר הם לה' והצדיקים באים בהם:
[כא] אודך כי עניתני. מכאן ואילך אמר דוד ושמואל וישי ואחי דוד כמו שמפורש בערבי פסחים מי שאמר זה לא אמר זה:
אֵלִי אַתָּה וְאוֹדֶךָּ אֱלֹהַי אֲרוֹמְמֶֽךָּ׃
