The Lord preserves him, and keeps him alive; he is called happy upon the earth: and Thou wilt not deliver him to the will of his enemies.

The Lord strengthens him upon the bed of sickness: whenever he is prostrate Thou recoverest him in his illness.

The Lord strengthens him upon the bed of sickness: whenever he is prostrate Thou recoverest him in his illness.

I said, Lord, be gracious to me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.

I said, Lord, be gracious to me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against Thee.

Rashi

My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

My enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

41:7

And if one comes to see me, he speaks vanity: his heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes abroad, he tells it.

And if one comes to see me, he speaks vanity: his heart gathers iniquity to itself; when he goes abroad, he tells it.

Rashi

All that hate me whisper together against me: against me they devise my hurt.

All that hate me whisper together against me: against me they devise my hurt.

Rashi

An evil disease, say they, cleaves fast to him: and from where he lies he shall rise up no more.

An evil disease, say they, cleaves fast to him: and from where he lies he shall rise up no more.

Rashi

Even my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who did eat of my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

41:11

But Thou, O Lord, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may pay them back.

But Thou, O Lord, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may pay them back.

41:12

By this I know that Thou favourest me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

By this I know that Thou favourest me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.

Rashi

And as for me, Thou upholdest me in my integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.

And as for me, Thou upholdest me in my integrity, and settest me before Thy face for ever.
