Tehillim 54:1-9

54:1

לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינֹת מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִֽד׃

To the chief Musician for strings, A Maskil of David,

54:2

בְּבֹא הַזִּיפִים וַיֹּאמְרוּ לְשָׁאוּל הֲלֹא דָוִד מִסְתַּתֵּר עִמָּֽנוּ׃

when the Zifim came and said to Sha᾽ul, Does not David hide himself with us?

54:3

אֱלֹהִים בְּשִׁמְךָ הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי וּבִגְבוּרָתְךָ תְדִינֵֽנִי׃

Save me, O God, by Thy name, and judge me by Thy strength.

Rashi

ובגבורתך תדינני. תנקום נקמתי כמו כי ידין ה' עמו (דברים ל"ב):

54:4

אֱלֹהִים שְׁמַע תְּפִלָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה לְאִמְרֵי־פִֽי׃

Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

54:5

כִּי זָרִים ׀ קָמוּ עָלַי וְֽעָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי לֹא שָׂמוּ אֱלֹהִים לְנֶגְדָּם סֶֽלָה׃

For strangers are risen up against me, and violent men seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. (Sela.)

54:6

הִנֵּה אֱלֹהִים עֹזֵר לִי אֲדֹנָי בְּֽסֹמְכֵי נַפְשִֽׁי׃

Behold, God is my helper: the Lord is the sustainer of my soul.

54:7

(ישוב) [יָשִׁיב] הָרַע לְשֹׁרְרָי בַּאֲמִתְּךָ הַצְמִיתֵֽם׃

He rewards evil to my enemies: O, cut them off in Thy truth.

Rashi

לשוררי. לעויני לשון אשורנו ולא קרוב (במדבר כ״ד:י״ז):

באמתך. מתוך שאתה אמיתי ואמרת ליפרע מהולכי רכיל ורודפי הרג לכך הצמיתם:

54:8

בִּנְדָבָה אֶזְבְּחָה־לָּךְ אוֹדֶה־שִּׁמְךָ יְהֹוָה כִּי־טֽוֹב׃

I will sacrifice a free will offering to Thee: I will praise Thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

54:9

כִּי מִכׇּל־צָרָה הִצִּילָנִי וּבְאֹיְבַי רָאֲתָה עֵינִֽי׃ {פ}

For he has delivered me out of all trouble: and my eye has gazed upon my enemies.
