לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד לְהַזְכִּֽיר׃

אֱלֹהִים לְהַצִּילֵנִי יְהֹוָה לְעֶזְרָתִי חֽוּשָׁה׃

יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיַחְפְּרוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר וְיִכָּלְמוּ חֲפֵצֵי רָעָתִֽי׃
Let them be ashamed and confounded who seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, who desire my hurt.

יָשׁוּבוּ עַל־עֵקֶב בׇּשְׁתָּם הָאֹמְרִים הֶאָח ׀ הֶאָֽח׃

ישובו על עקב בשתם. מדה במדה כמו שעשו לי:
על עקב. באותו מעגל עצמו אנציש"טראציש בלע"ז:
האומרים. עלי:
האח האח. ל' חדוה בראותו באויבו כרצונו:
יָשִׂישׂוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ ׀ בְּךָ כׇּֽל־מְבַקְשֶׁיךָ וְיֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד יִגְדַּל אֱלֹהִים אֹהֲבֵי יְשׁוּעָתֶֽךָ׃
Let all those who seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: and let such as love Thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

חושה לי. לעזרה:
לדוד להזכיר. ל' תפלה הוא, כמו ואנחנו בשם ה' אלהינו נזכיר (לעיל כ'), וכן בדברי הימים להזכיר ולהודות לה' ובמדרש תהלים ראיתי משל למלך שכעס על צאנו וסתר את הדיר והוציא את הצאן ואת הרועה אחר זמן החזיר את הצאן ובנה את הדיר ולא הזכיר את הרועה אמר הרועה הרי הצאן מוחזר והדיר בנוי ואני איני נזכר כך למעלה מן הענין נאמר כי אלהים יושיע ציון וגו' ואוהבי שמו ישכנו בה הרי הדיר בנוי והצאן כנוס והרועה (זה דוד) לא נזכר לכך נאמר לדוד להזכיר אלהים להצילני:
