יְהֹוָה אֲדֹנֵינוּ מָה־אַדִּיר שִׁמְךָ בְּכׇל־הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר תְּנָה הוֹדְךָ עַל־הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃
O Lord our Lord, how majestic is Thy name in all the earth; who hast set Thy glory above the heavens.

מה אדיר שמך. יותר מכדי כח מדת התחתונים לא היו התחתונים כדאי שתשרה שכינתך ביניהם:
אשר תנה הודך על השמים. ראוי שתתנהו על השמים ואתה בענותך הגדולה יסדת עוז וגו':
מִפִּי עוֹלְלִים ׀ וְֽיֹנְקִים יִסַּדְתָּ עֹז לְמַעַן צוֹרְרֶיךָ לְהַשְׁבִּית אוֹיֵב וּמִתְנַקֵּֽם׃
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou founded strength because of Thy enemies, that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

יסדת עוז מפי עוללים ויונקים השרית שכינתך במקדש ותקנת להודות לך עוז מפי הלוים והכהנים שהם בני אדם גדלים בליכלוך, כעוללים ויונקי שדים, עוללים לשון ועוללתי בעפר קרני (איוב ט״ז:ט״ו) וע"ש הלכלוך נקראו כל תינוקות עוללים:
למען צורריך. להודיעם כי עמך אנחנו:
להשבית חרפת אויב ומתנקם האומר לא טובים אתם מהאומו' ואני כשאני רואה שמיך וגו' אני תמה בלבי מה אנוש כי תזכרנו:
כִּֽי־אֶרְאֶה שָׁמֶיךָ מַעֲשֵׂה אֶצְבְּעֹתֶיךָ יָרֵחַ וְכוֹכָבִים אֲשֶׁר כּוֹנָֽנְתָּה׃
When I behold Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained;

מָה־אֱנוֹשׁ כִּֽי־תִזְכְּרֶנּוּ וּבֶן־אָדָם כִּי תִפְקְדֶֽנּוּ׃

ותחסרהו מעט מאלהים וגו'. מאלהים ל' מלאכים שנתת כח ביהושע להדמים החמה וליבש את הירדן במשה לקרוע מי ים סוף ולעלות למרום ובאליהו להחיות את המת:
תַּמְשִׁילֵהוּ בְּמַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ כֹּל שַׁתָּה תַֽחַת־רַגְלָֽיו׃

צנה ואלפים. צאן ובקר כמו (דברים כה) שגר אלפיך, צנה לשון פעולה הוא כמו (במדבר ל״ב:כ״ד) וגדרות לצנאכם, אוביילדי"ץ בלעז, יש מדרשי אגדה ואינם מתיישבין לפי המקראות:
צִפּוֹר שָׁמַיִם וּדְגֵי הַיָּם עֹבֵר אׇרְחוֹת יַמִּֽים׃
