תְּפִלָּה לְדָוִד הַטֵּֽה־יְהֹוָה אׇזְנְךָ עֲנֵנִי כִּֽי־עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן אָֽנִי׃

כל היום. כל הגלות שהוא יום לאומות ולילה לישראל כך מפורש באגדת תהלים:
שַׂמֵּחַ נֶפֶשׁ עַבְדֶּךָ כִּי אֵלֶיךָ אֲדֹנָי נַפְשִׁי אֶשָּֽׂא׃

נפשי אשא. לבי אכוין:
כִּֽי־אַתָּה אֲדֹנָי טוֹב וְסַלָּח וְרַב־חֶסֶד לְכׇל־קֹֽרְאֶֽיךָ׃

ואין כמעשיך. המקדים עליונים לתחתונים:
כׇּל־גּוֹיִם ׀ אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתָ יָבוֹאוּ ׀ וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ לְפָנֶיךָ אֲדֹנָי וִיכַבְּדוּ לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃
All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and prostrate themselves before Thee, O Lord; and shall glorify Thy name.

ועושה נפלאות אתה אלהים לבדך. עד שלא נבראו המלאכים נבראו השמים והארץ לפיכך יכבדו כל הגוים לשמך:
הוֹרֵנִי יְהֹוָה ׀ דַּרְכֶּךָ אֲהַלֵּךְ בַּאֲמִתֶּךָ יַחֵד לְבָבִי לְיִרְאָה שְׁמֶֽךָ׃
Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in Thy truth: make my heart single to fear Thy name.

משאול תחתיה. דרך המנאפים להנתן בעומקה של שאול ומשם הצלתני שאמר לי נתן הנביא (שמואל ב י״ב:י״ג) גם ה' העביר חטאתך:
אֱלֹהִים ׀ זֵדִים קָמוּ־עָלַי וַעֲדַת עָרִיצִים בִּקְשׁוּ נַפְשִׁי וְלֹא שָׂמוּךָ לְנֶגְדָּֽם׃

זדים קמו עלי. דואג ואחיתופל:
ולא שמוך לנגדם. לא זכרו אשר ראו שמשחני שמואל על פיך:
וְאַתָּה אֲדֹנָי אֵל־רַחוּם וְחַנּוּן אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם וְרַב־חֶסֶד וֶאֱמֶֽת׃

לבן אמתך. בן האמה משפיל את עצמו לפני אדניו יותר ממקנת כסף שבן האמה יליד בית הוא וגדל בחיק אדוניו:
עֲשֵֽׂה־עִמִּי אוֹת לְטוֹבָה וְיִרְאוּ שֹׂנְאַי וְיֵבֹשׁוּ כִּֽי־אַתָּה יְהֹוָה עֲזַרְתַּנִי וְנִחַמְתָּֽנִי׃ {פ}

עשה עמי אות לטובה. שיהא ניכר לאחרים שמחלת לי:
ויראו שונאי. האות ויבושו, ולא שמע לו הקב"ה ליתן האות בימיו אלא בימי שלמה בנו כשדבקו השערים זה בזה ולא נפתחו עד שאמר (ד"ה ב ו') אל תשב פני משיחך זכרה לחסדי דוד עבדך:
כי חסיד אני. שאני שומע גדופי וחרפתי ויכולת בידי להנקם ואני שותק, כך הוא באגדת תהלים, ד"א פירשו רבותינו בברכות ולא חסיד אני שכל מלכי מזרח ומערב יושבין בכבודן ואני ידי מלוכלכות בדם ובשפיר ובשליא וכו':
