לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה כַּאֲשֶׁר עֵץ־הַגֶּפֶן בְּעֵץ הַיַּעַר אֲשֶׁר־נְתַתִּיו לָאֵשׁ לְאׇכְלָה כֵּן נָתַתִּי אֶת־יֹשְׁבֵי יְרוּשָׁלָֽ͏ִם׃
Therefore thus says the Lord God; As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Yerushalayim.

וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־פָּנַי בָּהֶם מֵהָאֵשׁ יָצָאוּ וְהָאֵשׁ תֹּאכְלֵם וִֽידַעְתֶּם כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָה בְּשׂוּמִי אֶת־פָּנַי בָּהֶֽם׃
And I will set my face against them; they shall go out from one fire, and another fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am the Lord, when I set my face against them.

מהאש יצאו. על פתגמי אוריתא דיהיבין מגו אשתא עברו ועממיא דתקיפין כאישתא ישיצינון:
וְנָתַתִּי אֶת־הָאָרֶץ שְׁמָמָה יַעַן מָעֲלוּ מַעַל נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִֽה׃ {פ}
And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted faithlessly, says the Lord God.

כן נתתי. את ירושלים שתי קצותיה אכל' האש שתי גליות כשגלה יהויקים גלו עמו מזרע המלוכה ומן הפרתמים כמו שנאמר בדניאל אחריו גלה יכניה בנו והחרש והמסגר ותוכו נחר צדקיהו הנותר בה כבר גזרתו עליו מלא חפניך גחלי אש וזרוק על העיר (לעיל י):
