כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה וְלָקַחְתִּי אָנִי מִצַּמֶּרֶת הָאֶרֶז הָרָמָה וְנָתָתִּי מֵרֹאשׁ יֹֽנְקוֹתָיו רַךְ אֶקְטֹף וְשָׁתַלְתִּי אָנִי עַל הַר־גָּבֹהַּ וְתָלֽוּל׃
Thus says the Lord God; I will also take of the top of the high cedar, and will set it; I will pluck off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon a high and lofty mountain:

רך אקטוף. אין דרך להרכיב אלא מן הרך שגדל אשתקד שקורין גרייפי"א בלע"ז:
ותלול. לשון תל שדרך תל להיות גבוה ותלול אומנצלי"ה בלע"ז:
בְּהַר מְרוֹם יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶשְׁתֳּלֶנּוּ וְנָשָׂא עָנָף וְעָשָׂה פֶרִי וְהָיָה לְאֶרֶז אַדִּיר וְשָׁכְנוּ תַחְתָּיו כֹּל צִפּוֹר כׇּל־כָּנָף בְּצֵל דָּלִיּוֹתָיו תִּשְׁכֹּֽנָּה׃
in the mountain of the height of Yisra᾽el will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a stately cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shadow of its branches they shall dwell.

תשכונה. דגשות הנו"ן משמש תחת נו"ן שנייה כאלו כתוב תשכוננה:
וְֽיָדְעוּ כׇּל־עֲצֵי הַשָּׂדֶה כִּי אֲנִי יְהֹוָה הִשְׁפַּלְתִּי ׀ עֵץ גָּבֹהַּ הִגְבַּהְתִּי עֵץ שָׁפָל הוֹבַשְׁתִּי עֵץ לָח וְהִפְרַחְתִּי עֵץ יָבֵשׁ אֲנִי יְהֹוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי וְעָשִֽׂיתִי׃ {פ}
And all the trees of the field shall know that I the Lord have brought down the high tree, and have exalted the low tree; have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the Lord have spoken and have done it.

השפלתי עץ גבוה. את הכשדים שהיו מושלים בישראל:
הובשתי עץ לח. צדקיהו וזרעו:
והפרחתי עץ יבש. יהויכין שגלה בלא בנים יוליד בבבל את זרובבל והוא יהיה פחת יהודה למשול:
ונתתי. כתרגומו ואקיימיניה. ולקחתי אני. את מלך המשיח:
