38:18

וְהָיָה ׀ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא בְּיוֹם בּוֹא גוֹג עַל־אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה תַּעֲלֶה חֲמָתִי בְּאַפִּֽי׃

And it shall come to pass on that day, when Gog shall come against the land of Yisra᾽el, says the Lord God, that my fury shall glare out.

וּבְקִנְאָתִי בְאֵשׁ־עֶבְרָתִי דִּבַּרְתִּי אִם־לֹא ׀ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יִֽהְיֶה רַעַשׁ גָּדוֹל עַל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

For in my jealousy and in the fire of my anger have I spoken saying, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Yisra᾽el;

רעש גדול. על ידי קולות ורעמים כמו שהוא אומר:

38:20

וְרָעֲשׁוּ מִפָּנַי דְּגֵי הַיָּם וְעוֹף הַשָּׁמַיִם וְחַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְכׇל־הָרֶמֶשׂ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל־הָאֲדָמָה וְכֹל הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר עַל־פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וְנֶהֶרְסוּ הֶהָרִים וְנָֽפְלוּ הַמַּדְרֵגוֹת וְכׇל־חוֹמָה לָאָרֶץ תִּפּֽוֹל׃

so that the fishes of the sea, and the birds of the sky, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

ונפלו המדרגו'. אני שמעתי שהם סלעי' הזקופי' ותלויים ונראים כנופלים ואני אומר הם תלי מגדלי' שחופרים סביב וזורקים העפר באמצע להגביה התל ועשוי מדרגות מדרגות אשקלונ"ש בלע"ז כדי שיעמוד העפר ולאחר שנכבש יפה נוטלים המלבנים מעמידי המדרגה:

38:21

וְקָרָאתִי עָלָיו לְכׇל־הָרַי חֶרֶב נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה חֶרֶב אִישׁ בְּאָחִיו תִּהְיֶֽה׃

And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says the Lord God: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.

וקראתי עליו לכל הרי חרב. לבא חרב בהם עליו, וקראתי וזימנתי ומה היא החרב שאקרא עליו חרבם של עצמם חרב איש באחיו:

38:22

וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּי אִתּוֹ בְּדֶבֶר וּבְדָם וְגֶשֶׁם שׁוֹטֵף וְאַבְנֵי אֶלְגָּבִישׁ אֵשׁ וְגׇפְרִית אַמְטִיר עָלָיו וְעַל־אֲגַפָּיו וְעַל־עַמִּים רַבִּים אֲשֶׁר אִתּֽוֹ׃

And I will contend with him by pestilence and by blood; and I will rain down upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many peoples that are with him, a torrential rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

ואבני אלגביש. אבני ברד המאירות כאבנים טובות ששמם גביש כענין שנא' (איוב כ"ח) ראמות וגביש ורבותינו אמרו אל גב איש אבני ברד שהתחילו לירד על מצרים ועמדו באויר על גב האיש משה שהתפלל שלא ירדו כענין שנא' (שמות ה) לא נתך ארצה לא הגיע לארץ:

38:23

וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּי וְנוֹדַעְתִּי לְעֵינֵי גּוֹיִם רַבִּים וְיָדְעוּ כִּֽי־אֲנִי יְהֹוָֽה׃ {ס}

Thus will I magnify myself and sanctify myself; and I will make myself known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the Lord.
