וְאֵלֶּה תּוֹצְאֹת הָעִיר מִפְּאַת צָפוֹן חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וְאַרְבַּעַת אֲלָפִים מִדָּֽה׃
And these are the exits of the city. On the north side, there is measure of four thousand five hundred.

מדה. הוא קנה המדה חמש מאות וארבעת אלפים קנים:
וְשַׁעֲרֵי הָעִיר עַל־שְׁמוֹת שִׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שְׁעָרִים שְׁלוֹשָׁה צָפוֹנָה שַׁעַר רְאוּבֵן אֶחָד שַׁעַר יְהוּדָה אֶחָד שַׁעַר לֵוִי אֶחָֽד׃
And the gates of the city shall be after the names of the tribes of Yisra᾽el: three gates northward; one gate of Re᾽uven, one gate of Yehuda, one gate of Levi.

וְאֶל־פְּאַת קָדִימָה חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וְאַרְבַּעַת אֲלָפִים וּשְׁעָרִים שְׁלֹשָׁה וְשַׁעַר יוֹסֵף אֶחָד שַׁעַר בִּנְיָמִן אֶחָד שַׁעַר דָּן אֶחָֽד׃
And at the east side there is a measure of four thousand five hundred: and three gates; one gate of Yosef, one gate of Binyamin, one gate of Dan.

וּפְאַת־נֶגְבָּה חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וְאַרְבַּעַת אֲלָפִים מִדָּה וּשְׁעָרִים שְׁלֹשָׁה שַׁעַר שִׁמְעוֹן אֶחָד שַׁעַר יִשָּׂשכָר אֶחָד שַׁעַר זְבוּלֻן אֶחָֽד׃

פְּאַת־יָמָּה חֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וְאַרְבַּעַת אֲלָפִים שַׁעֲרֵיהֶם שְׁלֹשָׁה שַׁעַר גָּד אֶחָד שַׁעַר אָשֵׁר אֶחָד שַׁעַר נַפְתָּלִי אֶחָֽד׃

סָבִיב שְׁמֹנָה עָשָׂר אָלֶף וְשֵׁם־הָעִיר מִיּוֹם יְהֹוָה ׀ שָֽׁמָּה׃
It shall be round about eighteen thousand measures: and the name of the city from that day shall be, The Lord is there.

סביב שמנה עשר אלף. היקף עיר י"ח אלף קנים כך עולה חשבון ריבועה:
ושם העיר מיום ה' שמה. ת"י ושמא דקרתא דמתפרש מיומא די ישרי ה' שכינתיה תמן כלומר לא יקרא לה שם אחר אלא שם הראשון שהיה לה מיום שעקד אברהם את יצחק בנו שם שקרא לו יראה והיא היה שמה שלם הרי ירושלים ויש עוד לפתור ושם העיר יהיה לעתיד מיום בניינה ולהלן יקראו לה ה' שמה, סליק ספר יחזקאל:
