וַיֹּאמֶר יְהֹוָה אֶל־יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אַל־תִּירָא מֵהֶם כִּי בְיָדְךָ נְתַתִּים לֹא־יַעֲמֹד אִישׁ מֵהֶם בְּפָנֶֽיךָ׃

וַיְהִי בְּנֻסָם ׀ מִפְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הֵם בְּמוֹרַד בֵּית־חוֹרֹן וַיהֹוָה הִשְׁלִיךְ עֲלֵיהֶם אֲבָנִים גְּדֹלוֹת מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם עַד־עֲזֵקָה וַיָּמֻתוּ רַבִּים אֲשֶׁר־מֵתוּ בְּאַבְנֵי הַבָּרָד מֵאֲשֶׁר הָרְגוּ בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בֶּחָֽרֶב׃ {ס}
And it came to pass, as they fled from before Yisra᾽el and were on the descent to Bet-ĥoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them as far as ῾Azeqa, and they died: they were more that died with the hailstones than they whom the children of Yisra᾽el slew with the sword.
