וְהָיָה ׀ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לֹא־יוֹסִיף עוֹד שְׁאָר יִשְׂרָאֵל וּפְלֵיטַת בֵּֽית־יַעֲקֹב לְהִשָּׁעֵן עַל־מַכֵּהוּ וְנִשְׁעַן עַל־יְהֹוָה קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל בֶּאֱמֶֽת׃
And it shall come to pass on that day, that the remnant of Yisra᾽el, and such as are escaped of the house of Ya῾aqov, shall no more again rely upon him that smote them; but shall rely upon the Lord, the Holy One of Yisra᾽el in truth.

שְׁאָר יָשׁוּב שְׁאָר יַעֲקֹב אֶל־אֵל גִּבּֽוֹר׃
A remnant shall return, even the remnant of Ya῾aqov, to the mighty God.

שאר ישוב. השארית שבהן ישובו אל הקב"ה:
אל גבור. שהראה להם גבורה בסנחרב:
כִּי אִם־יִהְיֶה עַמְּךָ יִשְׂרָאֵל כְּחוֹל הַיָּם שְׁאָר יָשׁוּב בּוֹ כִּלָּיוֹן חָרוּץ שׁוֹטֵף צְדָקָֽה׃
For though Thy people Yisra᾽el be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: total destruction is decreed but overflowing with righteousness.

כי אם יהיה עמך. לחזקיהו אמר הנביא אם יהיה עמך כחול הים השאר שישוב בו למוטב תשטף את כליון החרוץ לבא עליהם ויעכבנו מלבא בצדקה שיתנהג בה:
כִּי כָלָה וְנֶחֱרָצָה אֲדֹנָי יֱהֹוִה צְבָאוֹת עֹשֶׂה בְּקֶרֶב כׇּל־הָאָֽרֶץ׃ {פ}
