יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ בְּעָלוּנוּ אֲדֹנִים זוּלָתֶךָ לְבַד־בְּךָ נַזְכִּיר שְׁמֶֽךָ׃
O Lord our God, other masters besides Thee have had dominion over us: but by Thee only will we make mention of Thy name.

זולתך. בדבר שלא כרצונך דרוש לאלהים אחרים לעבור על תורתך ואנחנו לבד בך הזכרנו ולא נזכיר שם אלהותו באל אחר אלא בו לבדו:
שמך. שם אלהותך נזכיר לאמר כי אלהינו לבד הוא אלהים:
מֵתִים בַּל־יִחְיוּ רְפָאִים בַּל־יָקֻמוּ לָכֵן פָּקַדְתָּ וַתַּשְׁמִידֵם וַתְּאַבֵּד כׇּל־זֵכֶר לָֽמוֹ׃
They are dead, they shall not live; the shades of the dead shall not rise: therefore hast Thou visited and destroyed them, and made all their memory to perish.

מתים בל יחיו. יהי רצון מלפניך שלא יחיו הרשעים האלה לעולם הבא, והרפאים האלה שריפו ידיהם ממצותיך בל תהיה להם תקומה:
לכן פקדת ותשמידם. הלא פקד' עליהם כבר ותשמיד' באמרי פיך כענין שנאמר כי מחה אמחה את זכר עמלק (שמות י״ז:י״ד):
יָסַפְתָּ לַגּוֹי יְהֹוָה יָסַפְתָּ לַגּוֹי נִכְבָּדְתָּ רִחַקְתָּ כׇּל־קַצְוֵי־אָֽרֶץ׃ {פ}
Thou hast increased the nation, O Lord, Thou hast increased the nation: Thou art glorified: Thou hast enlarged all the borders of the land.

יספת לגוי. לישראל יספת להם תורה וגדולה וכבוד וכל כמה שיספת להם נכבדת שהם מודין ומשבחין לפניך על כל הטובה הרי בטובתם כך עושים ישראל לפניך קילוס וכבוד ובצר להם:
בעלונו. נעשו לנו אדונים ונגשונו:
