כֹּה ׀ אָמַר יְהֹוָה כַּאֲשֶׁר יִמָּצֵא הַתִּירוֹשׁ בָּֽאֶשְׁכּוֹל וְאָמַר אַל־תַּשְׁחִיתֵהוּ כִּי בְרָכָה בּוֹ כֵּן אֶֽעֱשֶׂה לְמַעַן עֲבָדַי לְבִלְתִּי הַֽשְׁחִית הַכֹּֽל׃
Thus says the Lord, As the wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants’ sakes that I may not destroy them all.

התירוש. זה נח שהיה מתוק:
באשכול. בדור המשוכל ויש לפתור כמשמעו:
למען עבדי. למען כל צדיק וצדיק הנמצא בם:
וְהוֹצֵאתִי מִֽיַּעֲקֹב זֶרַע וּמִֽיהוּדָה יוֹרֵשׁ הָרָי וִירֵשׁוּהָ בְחִירַי וַעֲבָדַי יִשְׁכְּנוּ־שָֽׁמָּה׃
And I will bring forth a seed out of Ya῾aqov, and out of Yehuda an inheritor of my mountains: and my chosen ones shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there.

וְהָיָה הַשָּׁרוֹן לִנְוֵה־צֹאן וְעֵמֶק עָכוֹר לְרֵבֶץ בָּקָר לְעַמִּי אֲשֶׁר דְּרָשֽׁוּנִי׃

השרון. שם מחוז שהיה בארץ ישראל:
ועמק עכור. כמשמעו:
וְאַתֶּם עֹזְבֵי יְהֹוָה הַשְּׁכֵחִים אֶת־הַר קׇדְשִׁי הַעֹרְכִים לַגַּד שֻׁלְחָן וְהַֽמְמַלְאִים לַמְנִי מִמְסָֽךְ׃
But you that forsake the Lord that forget my holy mountain, that set out a table for Gad (Fortune,) and fill the cup of liquor for Meni (Destiny,)

עוזבי ה'. רשעי ישראל שהחזיקו בעכו"ם ומתו ברשעם:
העורכים לגד. שם עכו"ם העשוים על שם המזל ובלשון משנה יש גד גדי וסינוק לא:
למני. למניין חשבון הכומרים היו ממלאים אגנות מזג יין:
ממסך. יין מזוג במים כמשפטו כמו לחקור ממסך (משלי כ״ג:ל׳) מסכה יינה (שם ט) ויש פותרים למני לע"ז שמניתם עליכם אבל ומניתי אתכם שלא נקוד ומניתי דגש יורה שהוא לשון מניין:
וּמָנִיתִי אֶתְכֶם לַחֶרֶב וְכֻלְּכֶם לַטֶּבַח תִּכְרָעוּ יַעַן קָרָאתִי וְלֹא עֲנִיתֶם דִּבַּרְתִּי וְלֹא שְׁמַעְתֶּם וַתַּעֲשׂוּ הָרַע בְּעֵינַי וּבַאֲשֶׁר לֹֽא־חָפַצְתִּי בְּחַרְתֶּֽם׃ {פ}
you will I destine for the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke, you did not hear; but did evil before my eyes, and did choose that in which I delighted not.
