מֶה לִידִידִי בְּבֵיתִי עֲשׂוֹתָהּ הַֽמְזִמָּתָה הָרַבִּים וּבְשַׂר־קֹדֶשׁ יַעַבְרוּ מֵעָלָיִךְ כִּי רָעָתֵכִי אָז תַּעֲלֹֽזִי׃
What has my beloved to do in my house, seeing she has acted vilely with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou dost rejoice.

עשותה המזמתה. לעשות היא מזמת עצת חטאים שלה:
הרבים. שבהם:
ובשר קודש יעברו מעליך. אף המילה בטלו מבשרם שעל ידה היו מקודשים לי:
כי רעתכי אז תעלוזי. כשאתם עוברים עבירה אתם שמחים:
זַיִת רַֽעֲנָן יְפֵה פְרִי־תֹאַר קָרָא יְהֹוָה שְׁמֵךְ לְקוֹל ׀ הֲמוּלָּה גְדֹלָה הִצִּית אֵשׁ עָלֶיהָ וְרָעוּ דָּלִיּוֹתָֽיו׃

לקול המולה. ל' שאון עם רב שיבוא עליהם:
ורעו דליותיו. ורצצו את ענפיו:
וַיהֹוָה צְבָאוֹת הַנּוֹטֵעַ אוֹתָךְ דִּבֶּר עָלַיִךְ רָעָה בִּגְלַל רָעַת בֵּֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵל וּבֵית יְהוּדָה אֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ לָהֶם לְהַכְעִסֵנִי לְקַטֵּר לַבָּֽעַל׃ {פ}
For the Lord of hosts, that planted thee, has pronounced evil against thee, because of the evil which the house of Yisra᾽el and the house of Yehuda, have done to provoke me to anger in offering incense to the Ba῾al.
