הֲמָאֹס מָאַסְתָּ אֶת־יְהוּדָה אִם־בְּצִיּוֹן גָּעֲלָה נַפְשֶׁךָ מַדּוּעַ הִכִּיתָנוּ וְאֵין לָנוּ מַרְפֵּא קַוֵּה לְשָׁלוֹם וְאֵין טוֹב וּלְעֵת מַרְפֵּא וְהִנֵּה בְעָתָֽה׃
Hast Thou utterly rejected Yehuda? has Thy soul despised Żiyyon? why hast Thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold terror!

יָדַעְנוּ יְהֹוָה רִשְׁעֵנוּ עֲוֺן אֲבוֹתֵינוּ כִּי חָטָאנוּ לָֽךְ׃

אַל־תִּנְאַץ לְמַעַן שִׁמְךָ אַל־תְּנַבֵּל כִּסֵּא כְבוֹדֶךָ זְכֹר אַל־תָּפֵר בְּרִיתְךָ אִתָּֽנוּ׃
Do not abhor us, for Thy name’s sake, do not dishonour the throne of Thy glory: remember, break not Thy covenant with us.

למען שמך. שנקראת רחום:
כסא כבודך. בה"מ, ומדרש אגדה ישראל החקוקים בכסא כבודך:
הֲיֵשׁ בְּהַבְלֵי הַגּוֹיִם מַגְשִׁמִים וְאִם־הַשָּׁמַיִם יִתְּנוּ רְבִבִים הֲלֹא אַתָּה־הוּא יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ וּנְקַוֶּה־לָּךְ כִּֽי־אַתָּה עָשִׂיתָ אֶת־כׇּל־אֵֽלֶּה׃ {פ}
Are there any among the worthless gods of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not Thou he, O Lord our God? therefore we set our hope on Thee: for Thou hast made all these things.

ואם השמים יתנו רביבים. מאיליהם אם לא על פיך בתמיה כל תמיהה הכפולה הראשונה בה"א והשנייה באם כגון הבמחנים אם במבצרים (במדבר י״ג:י״ט) הטובה היא אם רעה (שם) המאוס מאסת אם בציון געלה נפשך (כאן) אף כאן היש בהבלי הגוים ואם השמים:
אם בציון געלה נפשך. על מנת שלא לשוב עליה כי אם דעתך לשוב מדוע הכיתה באין מרפא:
