וַֽיִּשְׁמְעוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַנְּבִאִים וְכׇל־הָעָם אֶֽת־יִרְמְיָהוּ מְדַבֵּר אֶת־הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה בְּבֵית יְהֹוָֽה׃

Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, This house shall be like Shilo, and this city shall be desolate without inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Yirmeyahu in the house of the Lord.

וַֽיִּשְׁמְעוּ ׀ שָׂרֵי יְהוּדָה אֵת הַדְּבָרִים הָאֵלֶּה וַיַּעֲלוּ מִבֵּית־הַמֶּלֶךְ בֵּית יְהֹוָה וַיֵּשְׁבוּ בְּפֶתַח שַֽׁעַר־יְהֹוָה הֶחָדָֽשׁ׃ {ס}

בפתח שער ה' החדש. אחרים הגיהו כשגלה יהויכין וקצת כל בית אלהינו עמו שברו חילו של נבוכדנצר שער המזרחי וחזר צדקיהו ותקנו וחדשו לכך נקרא חדש:
