וַֽיִּגְּשׁוּ כׇּל־שָׂרֵי הַחֲיָלִים וְיֽוֹחָנָן בֶּן־קָרֵחַ וִיזַנְיָה בֶּן־הוֹשַֽׁעְיָה וְכׇל־הָעָם מִקָּטֹן וְעַד־גָּדֽוֹל׃
Then all the captains of the forces, and Yoĥanan the son of Qareaĥ, and Yezanya the son of Hosha῾ya, and all the people from the least even to the greatest, came near,

וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֶל־יִרְמְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא תִּפׇּל־נָא תְחִנָּתֵנוּ לְפָנֶיךָ וְהִתְפַּלֵּל בַּעֲדֵנוּ אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ בְּעַד כׇּל־הַשְּׁאֵרִית הַזֹּאת כִּֽי־נִשְׁאַרְנֽוּ מְעַט מֵֽהַרְבֵּה כַּאֲשֶׁר עֵינֶיךָ רֹאוֹת אֹתָֽנוּ׃
and said to Yirmeyahu the prophet, Let now our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us to the Lord thy God, for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thy eyes see us: )

וְיַגֶּד־לָנוּ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֶת־הַדֶּרֶךְ אֲשֶׁר נֵֽלֶךְ־בָּהּ וְאֶת־הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃

וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם יִרְמְיָהוּ הַנָּבִיא שָׁמַעְתִּי הִנְנִי מִתְפַּלֵּל אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם כְּדִבְרֵיכֶם וְֽהָיָה כׇּֽל־הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲנֶה יְהֹוָה אֶתְכֶם אַגִּיד לָכֶם לֹא־אֶמְנַע מִכֶּם דָּבָֽר׃
Then Yirmeyahu the prophet said to them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray to the Lord your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatever thing the Lord shall answer you, I will declare it to you; I will keep nothing back from you.

וְהֵמָּה אָמְרוּ אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָהוּ יְהִי יְהֹוָה בָּנוּ לְעֵד אֱמֶת וְנֶאֱמָן אִם־לֹא כְּֽכׇל־הַדָּבָר אֲשֶׁר יִֽשְׁלָחֲךָ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ אֵלֵינוּ כֵּן נַעֲשֶֽׂה׃
Then they said to Yirmeyahu, The Lord be a true and faithful witness between us, if we do not act according to all the things for which the Lord thy God shall send thee to us.

אִם־טוֹב וְאִם־רָע בְּקוֹל ׀ יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ אֲשֶׁר (אנו) [אֲנַחְנוּ] שֹׁלְחִים אֹתְךָ אֵלָיו נִשְׁמָע לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר יִֽיטַב־לָנוּ כִּי נִשְׁמַע בְּקוֹל יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ {פ}
Whether it be good, or whether it be evil, we will obey the voice of the Lord our God, to whom we send thee; that it may be well with us, when we obey the voice of the Lord our God.
