איך לצטט את פשט
הדף הזה זמין כרגע באנגלית בלבד.
Citing is requested, not required: our own content is public domain (CC0). When you cite, name both Pshat and the source the explanation is based on, so readers can check it.
For people
The page's title, the release if you know it, and the page's address:
Pshat.org, "Genesis 12:5", https://pshat.org/en/bereshit/12/5 Name the source too: “…based on Rashi on Genesis 12:5”. Cite authors and works, not platforms: “Rashi on Bereshit 12:5”, not a website.
For machines
- Every API response carries its proof: the
sources(refs and quotes), acitation, thelicense, and a link to the page's history. - Responses can be pinned to a release with
?release=. Releases are immutable snapshots, so a citation never drifts. - Identifiers are stable: canonical refs compatible with Sefaria's (“Genesis 12:5”, “Berakhot
35a:19”), and permanent addresses like
https://pshat.org/id/{kind}/{uuid}that lead to the current page.
The citation in a response looks like this:
{
"text": "Pshat.org, \"Genesis 12:5\", release <name>, https://pshat.org/en/bereshit/12/5",
"url": "https://pshat.org/en/bereshit/12/5",
"release": "<name>",
"license": "CC0-1.0 (Pshat content; texts keep their own licenses)"
} Texts keep their own licenses
Imported texts keep their licenses (Miqra according to the Masorah, for example, is CC BY-SA). Each text shows its edition, and the API states each text's license. See Credits and API and data.
