וַיֵּשְׁבוּ בִּבְאֵֽר־שֶׁבַע וּמוֹלָדָה וַחֲצַר שׁוּעָֽל׃
And they dwelt at Be᾽er-sheva, and Molada, and Ḥażar-shu῾al.

וּבְבִלְהָה וּבְעֶצֶם וּבְתוֹלָֽד׃

אלה עריהם עד מלוך דוד. פתרון כשהרבו בני יהודה עשו תרעומות על בני שמעון מימי שאול ורצו לגרשם מארצם ולא היה יכול לגרשם ואף כי היה כל ימיו בטירדה ובמלחמות וכשמלך דוד באו שבטו לשאול מבני שמעון את ארצם שהשאילו להם והלך דוד וגר שם כי שאול לא חשש בכך מפני שנאת דוד שהיה מיהודה וזהו שכתב אלה עריהם עד מלך דוד וכשמלך גרשם מפי' רבי אליעזר בר משולם ז"ל וכן פי' לי רבי שלמה בר לוי אחי רבי משה הדרשן:
וְחַצְרֵיהֶם עֵיטָם וָעַיִן רִמּוֹן וְתֹכֶן וְעָשָׁן עָרִים חָמֵֽשׁ׃
And their settlements were, ῾Etam, and ῾Ayin, Rimmon, and Tokhen, and ῾Ashan; five cities:

וחצריהם. הכפרים מי היו עיטם ועין ורמון וגו':
וְכׇל־חַצְרֵיהֶם אֲשֶׁר סְבִיבוֹת הֶעָרִים הָאֵלֶּה עַד־בָּעַל {ס} זֹאת מֽוֹשְׁבֹתָם וְהִתְיַחְשָׂם לָהֶֽם׃

זאת מושבותם והתיחשם להם. פתרון אע"פ שייחסם כאן מקצתן אל תאמר שלא היו כי אם אותן שהרי יש ספר יחוס אחר ושם היו יחוסין כל שבט ושבט כך היה לפרש יחוסו בפני עצמו:
וישבו בבאר שבע. בני שמעון ישבו באותן עיירות של יהודה:
