הֲתִתֵּן לַסּוּס גְּבוּרָה הֲתַלְבִּישׁ צַוָּארוֹ רַעְמָֽה׃

כארבה. מדלג ומקפץ כארבה ומרעיש סביביו:
נחרו. כשהוא נופח בנחיריו בקול אימה הוא:
יַחְפְּרוּ בָעֵמֶק וְיָשִׂישׂ בְּכֹחַ יֵצֵא לִקְרַאת־נָֽשֶׁק׃

יחפרו בעמק. כמו ויחפרו לנו את הארץ (שם א) שדרך הפרשים אורבי' בעמקי' ובנחלים:
וישיש בכח. והסוס שמח ויוצא לקרא' נשק:
יִשְׂחַק לְפַחַד וְלֹא יֵחָת וְלֹא־יָשׁוּב מִפְּנֵי־חָֽרֶב׃

בְּדֵי שֹׁפָר ׀ יֹאמַר הֶאָח וּֽמֵרָחוֹק יָרִיחַ מִלְחָמָה רַעַם שָׂרִים וּתְרוּעָֽה׃

בדי שופר. ל' די השיב לו בהרבה שופר:
יאמר האח. ל' שאומרים (העוברים) כשהן שמחין כמו שאומרים אהה מחמת צער:
הֲֽמִבִּינָתְךָ יַאֲבֶר־נֵץ יִפְרֹשׂ כְּנָפָו לְתֵימָֽן׃

יאבר נץ. יגדל הנץ כנף ומלאך הוא דומה לדמות נץ ומעמיד קושי הרוח דרומית בפרישות כנפיו שלא תחריב את העולם:
אִם־עַל־פִּיךָ יַגְבִּיהַּ נָשֶׁר וְכִי יָרִים קִנּֽוֹ׃

משם חפר אכל. מתפלל על צרכי כל השנה ואחר כל הכבוד הזה ראה במיתת שני אפרוחיו נדב ואביהוא שמתו להתקדש שמי בהם שנפלה אימתי על השאר:
וְאֶפְרֹחָו יְעַלְעוּ־דָם וּבַאֲשֶׁר חֲלָלִים שָׁם הֽוּא׃ {פ}

יעלעו. ואינן אלא כפי מדת בלעו דם ומים ונראה כבולע הרבה כאומר על על וכן בלשון חכמים בהשקאת סוטה (סוטה כ ע"א) מערערין אותה ומשקין אותה על כרחה וכן זעקת שבר יעוערו (ישעיהו ט״ו:ה׳) ל' קריאת גרון דומה לכך ולפי הדרך דבר הנביא:
ובאשר חללים שם הוא. לאכול ורבותינו דימו כל ענין זה באהרן בפסיקת' דאחרי מות:
