And You are righteous in all [the affliction] that has come upon us. for You have wrought truth and we have been wicked.

And You are righteous in all [the affliction] that has come upon us. for You have wrought truth and we have been wicked.

And our kings, our leaders, our priests, and our fathers have not observed Your Torah and have not heeded Your mitzvoth and Your exhortations wherewith You exhorted them.

And our kings, our leaders, our priests, and our fathers have not observed Your Torah and have not heeded Your mitzvoth and Your exhortations wherewith You exhorted them.

וּתְבוּאָתָהּ מַרְבָּה לַמְּלָכִים אֲשֶׁר־נָתַתָּה עָלֵינוּ בְּחַטֹּאותֵינוּ וְעַל גְּוִיֹּתֵינוּ מֹשְׁלִים וּבִבְהֶמְתֵּנוּ כִּרְצוֹנָם וּבְצָרָה גְדֹלָה אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃ {פ}

And its produce adds [luxuries (through the taxes imposed upon us)] to the [gentile] kings that You have placed over us in our sins. And they rule over our bodies and our beasts at their will, and we find ourselves in great distress.

And its produce adds [luxuries (through the taxes imposed upon us)] to the [gentile] kings that You have placed over us in our sins. And they rule over our bodies and our beasts at their will, and we find ourselves in great distress.
