וַיָּקׇם דָּוִד וַאֲנָשָׁיו כְּשֵׁשׁ־מֵאוֹת אִישׁ וַיֵּֽצְאוּ מִקְּעִלָה וַיִּֽתְהַלְּכוּ בַּאֲשֶׁר יִתְהַלָּכוּ וּלְשָׁאוּל הֻגַּד כִּֽי־נִמְלַט דָּוִד מִקְּעִילָה וַיֶּחְדַּל לָצֵֽאת׃
Dovid and his men rose—about six hundred men—and departed from Ke'iloh and went wherever they could go. Shaul was told that Dovid had escaped from Ke'iloh, and he refrained from going out.

וַיֵּשֶׁב דָּוִד בַּמִּדְבָּר בַּמְּצָדוֹת וַיֵּשֶׁב בָּהָר בְּמִדְבַּר־זִיף וַיְבַקְשֵׁהוּ שָׁאוּל כׇּל־הַיָּמִים וְלֹֽא־נְתָנוֹ אֱלֹהִים בְּיָדֽוֹ׃
