A Poem, A Psalm of David.

A Poem, A Psalm of David.

108:2

My heart is firm, O God; I will sing, I will give praise; my glory likewise.

My heart is firm, O God; I will sing, I will give praise; my glory likewise.

Rashi

Awake the harp and the lyre: I will awaken the dawn.

Awake the harp and the lyre: I will awaken the dawn.

Rashi

I will praise Thee, O Lord, among the peoples: and I will sing praises to Thee among the nations.

I will praise Thee, O Lord, among the peoples: and I will sing praises to Thee among the nations.

108:5

For Thy steadfast love is great above the heavens: and Thy truth reaches the clouds.

For Thy steadfast love is great above the heavens: and Thy truth reaches the clouds.

Rashi

Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and Thy glory above all the earth;

Be Thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and Thy glory above all the earth;

108:7

that Thy beloved ones may be delivered: save with Thy right hand, and answer me.

that Thy beloved ones may be delivered: save with Thy right hand, and answer me.

Rashi

God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shekhem, and measure out the valley of Sukkot.

God has spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shekhem, and measure out the valley of Sukkot.

Rashi

Gil῾ad is mine; Menashshe is mine; Efrayim also is the strength of my head; Yehuda is my sceptre;

Gil῾ad is mine; Menashshe is mine; Efrayim also is the strength of my head; Yehuda is my sceptre;

108:10

Mo᾽av is my washpot; over Edom will I cast my shoe; over Peleshet I will cry in triumph.

Mo᾽av is my washpot; over Edom will I cast my shoe; over Peleshet I will cry in triumph.

Rashi

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me to Edom?

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me to Edom?

Rashi

Hast Thou not rejected us, O God? so that Thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

Hast Thou not rejected us, O God? so that Thou goest not forth, O God, with our hosts.

108:13

Give us help against the foe: for vain is the help of man.

Give us help against the foe: for vain is the help of man.

108:14

בֵּאלֹהִים נַֽעֲשֶׂה־חָיִל וְהוּא יָבוּס צָרֵֽינוּ׃ {פ}

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is who will tread down our enemies.

Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is who will tread down our enemies.
