שִׁיר הַֽמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד יְהֹוָה ׀ לֹא־גָבַהּ לִבִּי וְלֹא־רָמוּ עֵינַי וְלֹֽא־הִלַּכְתִּי ׀ בִּגְדֹלוֹת וּבְנִפְלָאוֹת מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

אִם־לֹא שִׁוִּיתִי ׀ וְדוֹמַמְתִּי נַפְשִׁי כְּגָמֻל עֲלֵי אִמּוֹ כַּגָּמֻל עָלַי נַפְשִֽׁי׃
Surely I have stilled and quieted myself, like a weaned child beside his mother: my soul within me is like a weaned child.

שויתי ודוממתי. עליך נפשי כגמול שהוא נתון עלי אמו, גמול יונק שדים:
כגמול עלי נפשי. נפשי בקרבי לנגדך כיונק שדי אמו:
יַחֵל יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶל־יְהֹוָה מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָֽם׃ {פ}
