Tehillim 142:1-8

142:1

מַשְׂכִּיל לְדָוִד בִּֽהְיוֹתוֹ בַמְּעָרָה תְפִלָּֽה׃

A Maskil of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave.

Rashi

במערה. שכרת בה כנף המעיל אשר לשאול:

142:2

קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֶזְעָק קוֹלִי אֶל־יְהֹוָה אֶתְחַנָּֽן׃

I cry to the Lord with my voice; with my voice I make my supplication to the Lord.

142:3

אֶשְׁפֹּךְ לְפָנָיו שִׂיחִי צָרָתִי לְפָנָיו אַגִּֽיד׃

I pour out my complaint before him; I declare my trouble before him.

142:4

בְּהִתְעַטֵּף עָלַי ׀ רוּחִי וְאַתָּה יָדַעְתָּ נְֽתִיבָתִי בְּאֹֽרַח־זוּ אֲהַלֵּךְ טָמְנוּ פַח לִֽי׃

When my spirit faints within me, then Thou knowst my path. In the way wherein I walk they have hidden a snare for me.

ואתה ידעת נתיבתי. כמה מוקשים יש בה:

142:5

הַבֵּיט יָמִין ׀ וּרְאֵה וְאֵֽין־לִי מַכִּיר אָבַד מָנוֹס מִמֶּנִּי אֵין דּוֹרֵשׁ לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃

I look on my right hand, and behold, but there is no man that knows me: I have nowhere to flee; no man cares for my soul.

Rashi

ואין לי מכיר. אין בכל משרתי שאול שימחה בידו:

142:6

זָעַקְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ יְהֹוָה אָמַרְתִּי אַתָּה מַחְסִי חֶלְקִי בְּאֶרֶץ הַחַיִּֽים׃

I cried to Thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

142:7

הַקְשִׁיבָה ׀ אֶֽל־רִנָּתִי כִּֽי־דַלּוֹתִי מְאֹד הַצִּילֵנִי מֵרֹדְפַי כִּי אָמְצוּ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃

Attend to my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I.

142:8

הוֹצִיאָה מִמַּסְגֵּר ׀ נַפְשִׁי לְהוֹדוֹת אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ בִּי יַכְתִּרוּ צַדִּיקִים כִּי תִגְמֹל עָלָֽי׃ {פ}

Bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to Thy name: the righteous shall crown themselves in me; for Thou shalt deal bountifully with me.

בי יכתירו צדיקים. בשבילי יכתירוך צדיקים ויודו לשמך שאתה סומך את יראיך:
