וַיְהִי בְּעֶשְׂרִים וָשֶׁבַע שָׁנָה בָּרִאשׁוֹן בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ הָיָה דְבַר־יְהֹוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹֽר׃

בֶּן־אָדָם נְבוּכַדְרֶאצַּר מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל הֶעֱבִיד אֶת־חֵילוֹ עֲבֹדָה גְדוֹלָה אֶל־צֹר כׇּל־רֹאשׁ מֻקְרָח וְכׇל־כָּתֵף מְרוּטָה וְשָׂכָר לֹא־הָיָה לוֹ וּלְחֵילוֹ מִצֹּר עַל־הָעֲבֹדָה אֲשֶׁר־עָבַד עָלֶֽיהָ׃ {ס}
Son of man, Nevukhadreżżar king of Bavel made his army labour hard against Żor: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was peeled: yet he had no wages, nor his army, for Żor, for the labour that he performed against it:

העביד את חילו. על צור עבודה גדולה:
כל ראש. אנשי חיילותיו:
מוקרח וכל כתף מרוטה. כדרך הצרים על העיר ימים רבים וטורחים ויגיעים בשאת משאות עצים ואבנים והוא לכד את צור בעשרים ושלש למלכותו כמו שמצינו בסדר עולם, מוקרח קאלב"ו בלע"ז:

ושכר לא היה לו. לאחר ששללו שללה עלה הים ושטף מהם לפי שנגזר עליה ועל שללה ליאבד בים:
ויהי בעשרים ושבע שנה. למלכות נבוכדנצר, אותה שנה נתנה מצרים בידו כך שנינו בסדר עולם ויש בספר הזה הרבה נבואות כתובות מוקדם ומאוחר:
