וְאַתָּה בֶן־אָדָם אֱמֹר אֶל־בְּנֵֽי־עַמְּךָ צִדְקַת הַצַּדִּיק לֹא תַצִּילֶנּוּ בְּיוֹם פִּשְׁעוֹ וְרִשְׁעַת הָֽרָשָׁע לֹא־יִכָּשֶׁל בָּהּ בְּיוֹם שׁוּבוֹ מֵֽרִשְׁעוֹ וְצַדִּיק לֹא יוּכַל לִֽחְיוֹת בָּהּ בְּיוֹם חֲטֹאתֽוֹ׃
And thou, son of man, say to the children of thy people. The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his transgression: as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not stumble for that in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall the righteous be able to live for that in the day that he sins.

בְּאׇמְרִי לַצַּדִּיק חָיֹה יִֽחְיֶה וְהוּא־בָטַח עַל־צִדְקָתוֹ וְעָשָׂה עָוֶל כׇּל־צִדְקֹתָו לֹא תִזָּכַרְנָה וּבְעַוְלוֹ אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂה בּוֹ יָמֽוּת׃
When I shall say to the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he has committed, he shall die for that.

לא תזכרנה. להצילו מליענש על עבירה זו:
וּבְאׇמְרִי לָרָשָׁע מוֹת תָּמוּת וְשָׁב מֵֽחַטָּאתוֹ וְעָשָׂה מִשְׁפָּט וּצְדָקָֽה׃
Again, when I say to the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;

חבול. עבוט שצויתי להשיבו כבא השמש:
כׇּל־חַטֹּאתָו אֲשֶׁר חָטָא לֹא תִזָּכַרְנָה לוֹ מִשְׁפָּט וּצְדָקָה עָשָׂה חָיוֹ יִֽחְיֶֽה׃
None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered for him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

Yet the children of thy people say, The way of the Lord is unfair: but it is their way that is unfair.

When the righteous man turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, then he shall die in those.

ומת בהם. בשבילם יענש:
וּבְשׁוּב רָשָׁע מֵֽרִשְׁעָתוֹ וְעָשָׂה מִשְׁפָּט וּצְדָקָה עֲלֵיהֶם הוּא יִֽחְיֶֽה׃
