וְהָיָה בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יִדַּל כְּבוֹד יַעֲקֹב וּמִשְׁמַן בְּשָׂרוֹ יֵרָזֶֽה׃
And on that day it shall come to pass, that the glory of Ya῾aqov shall be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh shall become lean.

וְהָיָה כֶּֽאֱסֹף קָצִיר קָמָה וּזְרֹעוֹ שִׁבֳּלִים יִקְצוֹר וְהָיָה כִּמְלַקֵּט שִׁבֳּלִים בְּעֵמֶק רְפָאִֽים׃
And it shall be as when the harvester gathers the standing corn, and reaps the ears with his arm; and it shall be as he that gathers ears in the valley of Refa᾽im.

והיה כאסוף קציר קמה. כמו שבעת קצירת קמה אוסף הקוצר צבת הקמה ביד אחת וזרועו השנית שבלים יקצור במגל כן יעקור סנחרב ויגלה הכל ואף לקט הנושר בשעת קציר' ילקט וישאנו כלומ' אף הבורחים לא ימלטו מידו וילקטום (כמו שמלקט שבלים סא"א):
בעמק רפאים. הוא הגיא אשר על פני ירושלים בספר יהושע תמצא שעמק רפאים סמוכה לירושלים:
וְנִשְׁאַר־בּוֹ עֽוֹלֵלֹת כְּנֹקֶף זַיִת שְׁנַיִם שְׁלֹשָׁה גַּרְגְּרִים בְּרֹאשׁ אָמִיר אַרְבָּעָה חֲמִשָּׁה בִּסְעִפֶיהָ פֹּֽרִיָּה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
And gleanings shall be left of him, as in the beating of an olive tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in its fruitful branches, says the Lord God of Yisra᾽el.

ונשאר בו. חזקיהו וסייעתו שהם תוך ירושלים אנשים מעט כעוללות כרם וכנוקף זית המשאיר שנים שלשה גרגרים:
כנוקף זית. קוצץ זיתים ללוקטן מן האילן וכן ונקף בסבכי היער (לעיל י), ורבותינו דרשו ונשאר בו בהמון סנחריב אנשי' מעט כנוקף זית כדאיתא באגדת חלק:
בראש אמיר. בראש הענף:
בסעיפיה. בענפיה, וכן וכלה סעיפיה (לקמן כז) וכן מסעף פארה (לעיל י):
בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יִשְׁעֶה הָאָדָם עַל־עֹשֵׂהוּ וְעֵינָיו אֶל־קְדוֹשׁ יִשְׂרָאֵל תִּרְאֶֽינָה׃

וְלֹא יִשְׁעֶה אֶל־הַֽמִּזְבְּחוֹת מַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו וַאֲשֶׁר עָשׂוּ אֶצְבְּעֹתָיו לֹא יִרְאֶה וְהָאֲשֵׁרִים וְהָחַמָּנִֽים׃ {ס}
