בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם חָלָה חִזְקִיָּהוּ לָמוּת וַיָּבוֹא אֵלָיו יְשַֽׁעְיָהוּ בֶן־אָמוֹץ הַנָּבִיא וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו כֹּֽה־אָמַר יְהֹוָה צַו לְבֵיתֶךָ כִּי מֵת אַתָּה וְלֹא תִֽחְיֶֽה׃
In those days Ḥizqiyyahu fell mortally sick. And Yesha῾yahu the prophet, the son of Amoż came to him, and said to him, Thus says the Lord, Set thy house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.

כי מת אתה ולא תחיה. מת אתה בעוה"ז ולא תחיה לעה"ב משום דלא נסבת איתתא כו' כדאיתא בברכות:
וַיַּסֵּב חִזְקִיָּהוּ פָּנָיו אֶל־הַקִּיר וַיִּתְפַּלֵּל אֶל־יְהֹוָֽה׃
Then Ḥizqiyyahu turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the Lord,

וַיֹּאמַר אָנָּה יְהֹוָה זְכׇר־נָא אֵת אֲשֶׁר הִתְהַלַּכְתִּי לְפָנֶיךָ בֶּֽאֱמֶת וּבְלֵב שָׁלֵם וְהַטּוֹב בְּעֵינֶיךָ עָשִׂיתִי וַיֵּבְךְּ חִזְקִיָּהוּ בְּכִי גָדֽוֹל׃ {ס}
and said, Remember now, O Lord, I beseech Thee, how I have walked before Thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in Thy sight. And Ḥizqiyyahu wept sore.
