כֹּה אָמַר יְהֹוָה הַנּוֹתֵן בַּיָּם דָּרֶךְ וּבְמַיִם עַזִּים נְתִיבָֽה׃
Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

הַמּוֹצִיא רֶכֶב־וָסוּס חַיִל וְעִזּוּז יַחְדָּו יִשְׁכְּבוּ בַּל־יָקוּמוּ דָּעֲכוּ כַּפִּשְׁתָּה כָבֽוּ׃

כפשתה כבו. תירגם יונתן כבוצא עמי טפו:
אַֽל־תִּזְכְּרוּ רִאשֹׁנוֹת וְקַדְמֹנִיּוֹת אַל־תִּתְבֹּנָֽנוּ׃

אל תזכרו ראשונות. הניסים הללו שאני מזכיר לכם שעשיתי במצרים אל תזכרו אותם מעתה כי בגאולה זו תעסקו להודות ולהלל:
אל תתבוננו. אל תסתכלו בהן אל תתנו להם לב:
הִנְנִי עֹשֶׂה חֲדָשָׁה עַתָּה תִצְמָח הֲלוֹא תֵּדָעוּהָ אַף אָשִׂים בַּמִּדְבָּר דֶּרֶךְ בִּישִׁמוֹן נְהָרֽוֹת׃
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

תְּכַבְּדֵנִי חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה תַּנִּים וּבְנוֹת יַעֲנָה כִּֽי־נָתַתִּי בַמִּדְבָּר מַיִם נְהָרוֹת בִּֽישִׁימֹן לְהַשְׁקוֹת עַמִּי בְחִירִֽי׃
The beast of the field shall honour me, the jackals and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

תכבדני חית השדה. מקום שהוא חרב ומרבץ לחיות השדה לתנים ולבנות יענה:
כי נתתי במדבר מים. כלומר בארץ חריבה אתן ישוב:
עַם־זוּ יָצַרְתִּי לִי תְּהִלָּתִי יְסַפֵּֽרוּ׃ {ס}
