וְלֹא־אֹתִי קָרָאתָ יַעֲקֹב כִּֽי־יָגַעְתָּ בִּי יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
But thou hast not called upon me, O Ya῾aqov; but thou hast been weary of me, O Yisra᾽el.

כי יגעת בי. נלאיתם מהר בעבודתי:
לֹֽא־הֵבֵיאתָ לִּי שֵׂה עֹלֹתֶיךָ וּזְבָחֶיךָ לֹא כִבַּדְתָּנִי לֹא הֶעֱבַדְתִּיךָ בְּמִנְחָה וְלֹא הוֹגַעְתִּיךָ בִּלְבוֹנָֽה׃
Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings: nor hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not burdened thee with a meal offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

לא הבאת לי שה עולותיך. כ"א לעכו"ם:
לא העבדתיך. עבודה רבה במנחה קומץ מעט עולה לגבוה וגם הוא לא אמרתי לך להקריב לך חובה אלא נדבה:
לֹא־קָנִיתָ לִּי בַכֶּסֶף קָנֶה וְחֵלֶב זְבָחֶיךָ לֹא הִרְוִיתָנִי אַךְ הֶעֱבַדְתַּנִי בְּחַטֹּאותֶיךָ הוֹגַעְתַּנִי בַּעֲוֺנֹתֶֽיךָ׃

לא קנית לי בכסף קנה. לקטרת לא הוצרכת לקנותה בכסף לפי שהיתה מצויה בארצכם הרבה אמר רבי אבא קינמני' היתה גדילה בארץ ישראל והיו אוכלין אותה עזים וצביים במדרש איכה:
העבדתני בחטאותיך. אתם גרמתם לי להיות שמש לעובדי פסילים כמו שראה יחזקאל והנה רוח סערה באה מן הצפון שהיתה חוזרת מרכבת השכינה מבבל שהלכה לכבוש את כל העולם תחת ידו של נבוכדנצר שלא יאמרו ביד אומה שפלה מסר את בניו כדאיתא בחגיגה:
אָנֹכִי אָנֹכִי הוּא מֹחֶה פְשָׁעֶיךָ לְמַעֲנִי וְחַטֹּאתֶיךָ לֹא אֶזְכֹּֽר׃

אנכי אנכי. אני הוא שמחיתים מאז ואני מוחה אותם גם עתה:
למעני. לא בזכותך ולא בצדקת אבותיך:
הַזְכִּירֵנִי נִשָּׁפְטָה יָחַד סַפֵּר אַתָּה לְמַעַן תִּצְדָּֽק׃
