וְהָיָה ׀ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יִשְׁרֹק יְהֹוָה לַזְּבוּב אֲשֶׁר בִּקְצֵה יְאֹרֵי מִצְרָיִם וְלַדְּבוֹרָה אֲשֶׁר בְּאֶרֶץ אַשּֽׁוּר׃
And it shall come to pass on that day, that the Lord shall whistle to the fly that is in the uttermost end of the canals of Miżrayim, and to the bee that is in the land of Ashshur.

לזבוב. חיילות רבות כזבובים מארץ מצרים יבואו עם סנחריב:
יאורי מצרים. לפי שכל ארץ מצרים עשוייה יאורים שאין הגשמים יורדים שם אלא נילוס עולה ומשקה:
ולדבורה. חיל גבורים עוקצים כדבורים:
וּבָאוּ וְנָחוּ כֻלָּם בְּנַחֲלֵי הַבַּתּוֹת וּבִנְקִיקֵי הַסְּלָעִים וּבְכֹל הַנַּעֲצוּצִים וּבְכֹל הַנַּהֲלֹלִֽים׃
And they shall come, and shall rest all of them in the desolate wadis, and in the holes of the rocks, and upon all thorns, and upon all branches.

בנחלי הבתות. נחלי עמקים שדות בורים:
ובנקיקי הסלעים. לארוב, נקיקי נקרות הצור:
ובכל הנעצוצים. מקום הסירים (שקורין ברוצ"ש בלעז) וכן תחת הנעצוץ יעלה ברוש (לקמן נה):
הנהלולים. בתי תושבחתא:
בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא יְגַלַּח אֲדֹנָי בְּתַעַר הַשְּׂכִירָה בְּעֶבְרֵי נָהָר בְּמֶלֶךְ אַשּׁוּר אֶת־הָרֹאשׁ וְשַׂעַר הָרַגְלָיִם וְגַם אֶת־הַזָּקָן תִּסְפֶּֽה׃ {פ}
On the same day shall the Lord shave with a hired razor that is hired (namely with them beyond the river with the king of Ashshur) the head, and the hair of the legs: and it shall also sweep away the beard.

יגלח אד' בתער השכירה. הגדולה וכן גם שכיריה בקרבה (ירמיהו מ״ו:כ״א) ת"י רברבהא יגלח:
בעברי נהר. ביושבי עבר הנהר ובמי מן היושבים במלך אשור את הראש יגלח ואת שער הרגלים לפי שהוא דבוק נשתנה לינקד פתח:
תספה. תכלה והתגלחת היא ההריגה והתער היא החרב:
את הראש. הוא סנחריב:
הרגלים. משרייתיה:
הזקן. שלטונייא ורבותינו אמרו גילוח ממש וספת הזקן חריכתה באש הזקן זקן סנחריב כדאיתא באגדת חלק:
ושרק ה'. ירמוז להם שיתקבצו:
