כִּי־כֹה ׀ אָמַר יְהֹוָה אַל־תָּבוֹא בֵּית מַרְזֵחַ וְאַל־תֵּלֵךְ לִסְפּוֹד וְאַל־תָּנֹד לָהֶם כִּֽי־אָסַפְתִּי אֶת־שְׁלוֹמִי מֵאֵת הָעָם הַזֶּה נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה אֶת־הַחֶסֶד וְאֶת־הָרַחֲמִֽים׃
For thus says the Lord, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, says the Lord, both love and mercy.

תנוד. תקונן:
כי אספתי את שלומי וגו'. כשהיה אברהם אביהם עושה צדקה ומשפט נתתי לזרעו חסד ורחמים ושמר ה' אלהיך לך וגו' (דברים ז׳:י״ב) ונתן לך רחמים (שם יג) הם הפכו ללענה משפט וצדקה לארץ הניחו (עמוס ה׳:ז׳) אף אני חזרתי ואספתי אלי את חסדי ואת רחמי:
אספתי. אטואי"ש בלעז כמו אסף אלהים את חרפתי (בראשית ל׳:כ״ג):
וּמֵתוּ גְדֹלִים וּקְטַנִּים בָּאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת לֹא יִקָּבֵרוּ וְלֹא־יִסְפְּדוּ לָהֶם וְלֹא יִתְגֹּדַד וְלֹא יִקָּרֵחַ לָהֶֽם׃

ומתו גדולים וקטנים. ואחר שהכל מתים מה לך לספוד:
ולא יתגודד ולא יקרח להם. דרך האבלים להתגודד ולשרוט בשרם ולקרוח קרחה בראשם ומכל מקום לישראל אסור ולא הזכירו כאן אלא לדוגמת אבל:
וְלֹא־יִפְרְסוּ לָהֶם עַל־אֵבֶל לְנַחֲמוֹ עַל־מֵת וְלֹֽא־יַשְׁקוּ אוֹתָם כּוֹס תַּנְחוּמִים עַל־אָבִיו וְעַל־אִמּֽוֹ׃

ולא יפרסו. ל' שבירה כמו (דניאל ה׳:כ״ה) מנא מנא תקל ופרסין שמברין את האבלים ברחבה ופורסין להם ברכת המוציא כי הוא יברך הזבח (שמואל א ט׳:י״ג) תירגם יונתן ארי הוא פריס על מזונא:
ולא ישקו אותם וגו'. הרי טעם למה שאמרתי אל תלך לספוד:
וּבֵית־מִשְׁתֶּה לֹֽא־תָבוֹא לָשֶׁבֶת אוֹתָם לֶאֱכֹל וְלִשְׁתּֽוֹת׃ {פ}
