The sin of Yehuda is written with a pen of iron, and with the point of a diamond: it is graven upon the tablet of their heart, and upon the horns of your altars.

As they remember their children so they remember their altars and their asherim by the green trees upon the high hills.

O mountain dweller in the fields, I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil; thy high places, because of sin, throughout all thy borders.

וְשָׁמַטְתָּה וּבְךָ מִנַּחֲלָֽתְךָ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לָךְ וְהַעֲבַדְתִּיךָ אֶת־אֹיְבֶיךָ בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר לֹא־יָדָעְתָּ כִּֽי־אֵשׁ קְדַחְתֶּם בְּאַפִּי עַד־עוֹלָם תּוּקָֽד׃ {ס}
And thou, even thyself, shalt discontinue from thy heritage that I gave thee; and I will cause thee to serve thy enemies in the land which thou knowst not: for you have kindled a fire in my anger, which shall burn for ever.
