כִּי כֹה אָמַר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֵלַי קַח אֶת־כּוֹס הַיַּיִן הַחֵמָה הַזֹּאת מִיָּדִי וְהִשְׁקִיתָה אֹתוֹ אֶת־כׇּל־הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ אוֹתְךָ אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃
For thus says the Lord God of Yisra᾽el to me; Take this wine cup of fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.

והשקיתה אותו. הנבא להם שלא תשוב עוד בשום תשובה:
וְשָׁתוּ וְהִֽתְגֹּעֲשׁוּ וְהִתְהֹלָלוּ מִפְּנֵי הַחֶרֶב אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי שֹׁלֵחַ בֵּינֹתָֽם׃

כיום הזה. כאשר הם היום לאחר החורבן כתב ירמיה ספרו:
אֶת־פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ־מִצְרַיִם וְאֶת־עֲבָדָיו וְאֶת־שָׂרָיו וְאֶת־כׇּל־עַמּֽוֹ׃

וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם {פ}
