וַֽיְהִי דְּבַר־יְהֹוָה אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָהוּ לֵאמֹֽר׃
Moreover the word of the Lord came to Yirmeyahu, saying,

הֲלוֹא רָאִיתָ מָֽה־הָעָם הַזֶּה דִּבְּרוּ לֵאמֹר שְׁתֵּי הַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹת אֲשֶׁר בָּחַר יְהֹוָה בָּהֶם וַיִּמְאָסֵם וְאֶת־עַמִּי יִנְאָצוּן מִֽהְיוֹת עוֹד גּוֹי לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ {ס}
Hast thou not observed what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which the Lord has chosen, he has cast them off? thus they have despised My people, so that they should no more be a nation in their sight.

ואת עמי ינאצון. ובדברים האלה הם גורמים לעמי לנאץ מהיות גוי לי:
לפניהם. לפני דבריהם אלה שמלמדין אותן לומר לא ישוב הקב"ה מחרונו עוד ולא תועיל לכם תשובה:
