כִּי כֹה אָמַר יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל־בָּתֵּי הָעִיר הַזֹּאת וְעַל־בָּתֵּי מַלְכֵי יְהוּדָה הַנְּתֻצִים אֶל־הַסֹּלְלוֹת וְאֶל־הֶחָֽרֶב׃
For thus says the Lord, the God of Yisra᾽el, concerning the houses of this city, and concerning the houses of the kings of Yehuda, which are thrown down to withstand the siege works and the sword;

ואל החרב. לתקפא שורא מן קדם דקטלין בחרבא:
בָּאִים לְהִלָּחֵם אֶת־הַכַּשְׂדִּים וּלְמַלְאָם אֶת־פִּגְרֵי הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר־הִכֵּיתִי בְאַפִּי וּבַחֲמָתִי וַאֲשֶׁר הִסְתַּרְתִּי פָנַי מֵהָעִיר הַזֹּאת עַל כׇּל־רָעָתָֽם׃
they come to fight with the Kasdim, and thereby to fill them with the dead bodies of those men, whom I shall stay in my anger and in my fury, those on account of whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.

ולמלאם את פגרי האדם. ואת הבתים אשר נתצו עושים קברות לפגרים שנהרגים בתוך העיר:
ואשר הסתרתי וגו'. כה אמר ה' הנני מעלה לה וגו':
הִנְנִי מַעֲלֶה־לָּהּ אֲרֻכָה וּמַרְפֵּא וּרְפָאתִים וְגִלֵּיתִי לָהֶם עֲתֶרֶת שָׁלוֹם וֶאֱמֶֽת׃

עתרת שלום. ברכת שלום שלוד בלע"ז:
וַהֲשִֽׁבֹתִי אֶת־שְׁבוּת יְהוּדָה וְאֵת שְׁבוּת יִשְׂרָאֵל וּבְנִתִים כְּבָרִֽאשֹׁנָֽה׃

וְהָיְתָה לִּי לְשֵׁם שָׂשׂוֹן לִתְהִלָּה וּלְתִפְאֶרֶת לְכֹל גּוֹיֵי הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר יִשְׁמְעוּ אֶת־כׇּל־הַטּוֹבָה אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי עֹשֶׂה אוֹתָם וּפָחֲדוּ וְרָגְזוּ עַל כׇּל־הַטּוֹבָה וְעַל כׇּל־הַשָּׁלוֹם אֲשֶׁר אָנֹכִי עֹשֶׂה לָּֽהּ׃ {ס}
And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure to it:

הנתוצים אל הסוללות. לעשות מהם סוללות תלים שצבורים למעלה אשר בונים בני העיר לעלות אל הסוללות להלחם מעליהם אל הכשדים:
